Actors Mohit Raina, Roshan Mathew and Sarah Jane Dias will headline the Indian remake of Israeli drama Magpie, which has been titled ‘Kan Khajura’. The show will also star Mahesh Shetty, Ninad Kamat, Trinetra Haldar, Heeba Shah, and Usha Nadkarni, reports deadline.com.

SonyLIV is remaking thriller Magpie in-house after licensing the rights from Israel‘s Yes Studios. Ajay Rai is producing and Chandan Arora is the director.

The original Israeli series follows a convicted murderer, who gets early release after 17 years on the condition that he continues to cooperate with the police as an informant.

“Being part of a thriller is always exciting yet demanding for any actor,” said Mohit.

He added: “My character has various shades associated with it and that has been a great responsibility to portray. To get into the skin of the character, we tried on various looks that brought out a well-etched character.”

A feeling of foreboding and damnation builds up in the narration from the first frame itself. Here's a gloriously gutsy film exploring the underbelly of Mumbai through the lives of two slumkids who grow up in identical circumstances but with somewhat disparate values.

Bollywood Filmmaker Chandan Arora’s Striker will become the first Bollywood film to premiere on YouTube internationally alongside its Indian theatrical release on Feb. 5, in a deal struck between Google India and pic producers the Indian Film Co. and Studio 18.

While the deal is a first for YouTube, it is not the first time that a Bollywood film has been available day and date online. Production house the Rajshri Group premiered Vivah on its website on the same day of its theatrical release on Nov. 10, 2006 for a fee.

The film generated 4 million legal downloads internationally and was a theatrical hit in India.

Young actor Siddharth of Rang De Basanti is back in Bollywood with his upcoming film Striker; Kolkata girl Nicollete plays the female lead. Written, directed and produced by Chandan Arora, the film will also see the Bollywood debut of Tamil actress Padmapriya.

Striker tells the story of a struggling carrom player and a series of incidents in his life. Music is composed by various artists; Tamil music sensation Yuvanshankar Raja will also make his Bollywood debut with a song in Striker.

Chandan Arora is all set to bring to life the story of Surya, a young carom player, this February the 5th with a dynamic cast of Rang de Basanti debutant Siddharth, the gorgous Nicollete Bird, Southern sensation Padmapriya and the very versatile Aditya Pancholi. One composer is clearly not enough for the makers of the Bollywood flick, Striker. Six music composers are creating music for filmmaker Chandan Arora’s movie, which features Rang De Basanti actor Siddharth in the lead role, along with actors Anupam Kher and Seema Biswas. “It has happened for the first time that one will get to cherish such a variety. Every now and then we come across anticipated ventures that we label as somewhat jinxed, and Chandan Arora's Striker was not far from being added to the list of films under this label. Luckily, however, the makers have made a quick save and have officially announced a definite release date for the Siddharth starrer.

Striker which is based on a real life character is a plot set in the heart of Mumbai and will see South sensation Siddharth playing the lead role for the first time in Hindi cinema since his debut in Rang De Basanti (2006) and his critically acclaimed performance in Vishal Bhardwaj's short film Blood Brothers.

Fans of the Southern heartthrob will see the actor return to Hindi films after nearly 4 years this January 29th when Striker hits screens at last!

We've been hearing about this project since 2008 however after much anticipation nothing came of it. Now Siddharth starrer Striker is back in the news and hopefully won't go away from headlines until release.

Rumour has it that the reason for the much delay of the project has been issues with distribution of the film. Originally given to Studio 18 for distribution however for some reason or another Siddharth was not happy with this decision. And so came to the rescue Rdb co-star Aamir Khan who helped the makers and Studio 18 strike a deal convenient to both.

Speaking to Mid-Day director Chandan Arora confirmed, "We are currently in the post-production stage. Studio 18 is the distributor of our movie."

Striker stars alongside Siddharth southern belle Padma Priya and inspired by a true life story. Siddharth plays a carrom player from a ghetto in Bombay and the setting is the mid 80's.
