He is survived by his wife Hana and their sons: Ido, Adam and Dvorah.

His parents died in 2005.

He and his holocaust-surviver parents moved to Israel in 1949, when he was two years old.

Since his English was not good enough at the time, during his audition in front of Utah Hagen he decided to improvise a fisherman fishing silently instead of the traditional monologue. At the end of that audition, she personally told him he's accepted.

Won a scholarship that enabled him to spend a year in New York City during which he studied under some of the most respectable acting teachers of the time including Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg and Utah Hagen.
