Lisa Kors is an award-winning writer, director and producer whose films have been shown around the world - from Seattle to London and Miami to Estonia. Her first film, SHAYNA MAIDELS: ORTHODOX JEWISH TEENAGE GIRLS premiered at Telluride and went on to play in over 50 international festivals and aired on PBS. Her feature film debut, DINNER AND A MOVIE was named by the Village Voice as "One of the Best Films of the Year."
"Dinner And A Movie" won the Best Director award at the Slamdunk Film Festival, the Audience Award from the Texas Film Festival and Best Comedy awards from Worldfest Houston and the New Bedford Film Festival. The film has been invited to over 25 film festivals around the world.Additionally, the script for "Dinner And A Movie" has been a Finalist in the Nichols Film Competition and the Sundance Filmmakers Lab.
As a screenwriter, Lisa recently completed a diverse slate of projects, from co-writing a football feature for Kevin James ('44') and writing on staff of a popular Travel Channel show (LEGENDARY LOCATIONS), hosted by Josh Gates. She also completed a stint as a writer on season 2 of the popular car show, FAST 'LOUD: DEMOLITION THEATER.
Lisa's pilot, the one-hour drama PRINCES' HOSPITAL, recently won 1st place in the UCLA Television Writing Pilot competition and was promoted in Germany and Canada as part of the Trans-Atlantic Partners International Producing Conference. Other original pilots have been selected for the PGA's Power of Diversity Workshop, and been finalists in the Sundance, Women in Film, Script Pipeline and Humanitas New Voices programs.
A graduate of Brown University, Lisa received an MFA in Film Production from USC, where she was awarded the school's top screenwriting prize. She is a proud member of the PGA, the WGA, Women in Film and the Television Academy.
For the past 5 years, Lisa has been a mentor for the PGA's Diversity workshop and she was recently selected to be the new Co-Chair of the PGA Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
