Sumara Meers

Sumara is an Australian actress and voice actress. After studying drama and acting from the age of 10 with classical theatre teachers Roy Maxwell and Constance Vayne in Sydney, she completed a Bachelor of Creative Arts in Drama in 2001, studying with Sydney theatre notables Mariette Rups-Donnelly and Deborah Wells. She then worked for several years in independent and fringe theatre productions in and around Sydney.
In 2019 Sumara began voice acting, portraying characters for audio dramas (eg Port Christmas (2019)), video games (eg Today Is My Birthday) and short films (eg Dead Air), as well as narrating corporate, commercial, and eLearning projects for clients all around the world. She provided some of the background voices for the soundscape of the feature film Expired (2022) .
Other game, animation and audio drama titles include Ell's Kitchen, Wrong Number, Absolutely No Adventures, Maggot Treats, Me And The Robot, The Death Chantey, Hero's Journey.
Sumara narrated the biographical audiobook "Violence in a Box" by Helen Austin, a book that deals with domestic violence in Australian families, a topic which Sumara is passionate about. Other audiobooks include "The Rostical Quest" by Michael Rogers, "The Me You We Tribe" by Jessie Paterson, "Fat Bits" by Hettie Ashwin, "Sunsafe Skincare" for Rosekin Cosmetics, and "Freedom is WIthin" by Matilda Wand.
