Mr. Harwood is considered a leading authority on the convergence of the entertainment and technology industries, founding and organizing such conferences as Digital Hollywood (25 years), Digital Hollywood at CES (20 years), Hollywood and Space, Politics 2008: The Media Conference on the Election of the President, Media Summit New York (12 Years - Partnered with BusinessWeek), Building Blocks, Advertising 2.0, Digital Hollywood Europe in London, the Entertainment Globalization Initiative, Multimedia Expo, Production East at Lincoln Center, NASA's International Business in Space Conference and the New York Writers Conference.
In 1987 Mr. Harwood produced the first HTTP: Conference in the world and 1990, he coined the now ubiquitous expression "The Digital Revolution."

In 1987 Mr. Harwood founded the Multimedia Expo, held in San Francisco, Boston and New York which was at the forefront in exploring new computer technologies and has been attended by over 60,000 executives and technical experts in the computer, communications and entertainment industries.
Over the years, Mr. Harwood has conceived and produced such events as the International Business in Space Conference, the leading international conference on space commercialization with NASA and its affiliated companies and Petroleum InfoTech for the Oil and Gas Industry.
He also founded and produced the New York Writer's Conference with celebrated writers such as Norman Mailer, George Plimpton and Jay McInerney and published New York Writer magazine with over 100,000 readers nationwide;
the Fashion Video Awards with sponsors such as Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Oleg Cassini, Levi's and Bloomingdales and Production East at Lincoln Center, a leading event for the film and television industry in New York, with such celebrities as

Mr. Harwood founded and produced SportsTech magazine, a publication focused on the integration and influence of technology on high performance sports including sports in all forms of media (TV - Mobile - Internet), the advancements of sports medicine, the use of video analysis by athletes and teams including the importance of cybermetrics (popularized by "Moneyball").
SportsTech led the way in documenting the innovation in sports medicine with extensive reporting on the advancements in what became known as "Tommy John" surgery.
