John Wes was born and raised in Chicago June 16, 1970 to a single mother Marsha West. John went on to play college and professional football for a brief time. After that John was contacted by good friends Robert and Martin Lawrence to get john started into acting back in 1996. The rest has been a blessing. John also directed and produced and acted in his 1st film "BARBEQ" back in 1999 which was distributed in select theaters around the USA and over seas. The comedy BARBEQ was also the 1st film for actor Omari Hardwick , who is known as GHOST from the hit television show "POWER". BARBEQ was also the 1st film of rapper Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs in Harmony. John is also the CEO of JW Films / Entertainment.
