On Wednesday night, G4, the gaming network that aired from 2002-2014 and recently announced a revival, held a charity special that saw its previous lineup of hosts — Olivia Munn, Kevin Pereira, Adam Sessler, Morgan Webb, Kristin Adams and Blair Herter — reunite for a night of nostalgia and reminiscing.

But, at the very end of the special (benefiting G4’s multi-day Gravython effort), a hint at G4’s future, not its past, shown in the form of WWE star Xavier Woods, also known as Austin Creed, knocking down the door and saving them from a scripted dire situation. With that, G4 announced that Woods would be its first signed talent for the new version of the network.

Darlene has finally found a friend at work! The Conners has tapped Alexandra Billings (Transparent) to recur during Season 3 as Robin, a transgender woman who is a supervisor at the Wellman Plastics factory where Darlene and Becky are employed.

No-nonsense but fair, Robin becomes a friend and mentor to Sara Gilbert’s character, “which lands [Darlene] in an awkward situation between the boss and her sister, Becky,” per the official synopsis.

The video above features a virtual tour through a Raiders of the Lost Ark-style warehouse loaded with memorabilia from G4’s past. While the video is loaded with various Easter eggs that will surely please long-time fans, the biggest takeaway comes at the end of the video when the year 2021 is accompanied by the message “We never stopped playing.”

Various people are taking to Twitter to weigh-in on this video, but the most interesting messages come from former G4 on-screen personalities. Former X-Play hosts Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb seemed surprised by this announcement, with Webb hilariously weighing in that she’s “impressed someone remembered the password to the Twitter.”

Updated: After nearly six years sitting in mothballs, the G4 video-game TV network is coming back — with some kind of relaunch next year by Comcast.

On Friday, the Twitter accounts of G4TV and G4’s Attack of the Show! and X-Play, two popular shows on the network, both posted the same cryptic teaser video, captioned with “We never stopped playing.” The video culminates with the numerals “2021.”

IGN, the game and entertainment publication owned by j2 Global’s Ziff Davis, also posted a version of the video (two minutes before the G4 account did). The teasers were timed for Comic-Con@Home, the first virtual streaming edition of the annual fan convention.

Revision3's Rev3Games has quickly become one of the most likeable and entertaining gaming news teams on the Internet. The channel's three hosts--Tara Long, Max Scoville, and Anthony Carboni--recently made news by hosting a 24-hour gaming marathon for charity. Today, that terrific trio became a fearsome foursome. Revision3 has announced that veteran gaming host Adam Sessler will join the network as an executive producer, where he will step in as a regular contributor to Rev3Games. Sessler made a name for himself as a host of the humorous video game reviews show X-Play. Sessler was a host for over 14 years on X-Play, and he followed the show from TechTV to G4, where he and co-host Morgan Webb were a popular pair. Sessler left G4 in 2012, and by moving to Rev3Games he will be reunited with several of his former TechTV colleagues, including HD Nation and Tekzilla...

"Attack Of The Show!" has been cancelled.

According to TV Guide, two of G4's most popular shows will not be returning after December with "X-Play" being nixed as well. The network, which is undergoing a makeover, is sad to see both shows go.

"'Attack of the Show' and 'X-Play' have been important for G4, and we want to acknowledge the creative people who have helped inspire and showcase the phenomenon of gamer culture," G4 Media general manager Adam Stotsky said. "With more than 3,000 episodes aired between them, we have more than enough great material to honor these innovators and their amazing contributions as we bring both shows to a close."

According to a press release, the network is being rebranded and will "move into a more upscale, sophisticated guy TV space" with the possibility of being named "G4Men."

The countdown to the end of "The Twilight Saga" on movie screens can officially start on July 12, when the cast makes its final Comic-Con appearance in support of the movies.

Comic-Con International has released the schedule for the opening day of the 2012 convention. "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2" will kick things off in Hall H, the biggest room at the San Diego Convention Center. The movie hits theaters in November.

Other Day 1 headliners include sessions for "Dexter," which will feature both new cast member Yvonne Strahovski ("Chuck") and a trailer for fellow Showtime series "Homeland"; USA's "Psych," featuring a peek at episodes from the coming season; and The CW's new series "Beauty and the Beast" with Kristin Kreuk.

At last year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Nintendo captured most of the spotlight by unveiling the Wii's successor, a high-definition console called the Wii U that utilizes a tablet-like touchscreen controller. If you're a true video game fanatic, you have at least two televisions set up side-by-side, because how else could you watch G4's X-Play? The series is one of the most reliable sources of news, reviews and previews for video games anywhere, and on top of that, it's pretty damn entertaining to watch.

So, naturally we made sure to attend the X-Play panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2011. Here's how it went:
