Arastu Zakia has written a commissioned historical biopic for a major Bollywood Star, produced by Collective Artists Network, and is also represented by them. His directed short film 'Riha' premiered at India's only Oscar-qualifying festival - BISFF and will play at the World's only Oscar-qualifying South-Asian festival - 'Tasveer' in Seattle. He has co-written a Series that went on to be commissioned by SK Global and was slated to be directed by Hansal Mehta. Arastu's autobiographical feature - 'Zakia' - was selected for the Rewrite Screenwriters Lab. Arastu is also one of the 6 Directors selected out of 900+ applicants for the First Draft Fellowship.
Before he made his transition into filmmaking, Arastu did his Undergrad in Commerce, Postgrad in Sociology and was a Venture Design Fellow from Stanford CDR & AU's VentureStudio. He founded a Civic Education NGO, was CEO of an EdTech Startup and later CPO at India's largest Education Platform - Careers360.
