Off-Broadway play The Fantasticks Jack Mette succeeds John Boni in "The Fantasticks," becoming the ninth actor to play El Gallo, the bandit-narrator, in the off-Broadway musical since its May 3, 1960 opening at the Sullivan St. Playhouse. " 'Fantasticks' SEP 14 1965 Gets New El Gallo, Jack Mette, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Mette of St. Petersburg, succeeds John Boni as El Gallo, the bandit-narrator in the long- run musical hit, "The Fantasticks." The Tom Jones-Harvey Schmidt musical has been running since May 1960 at the Sheridan Street Playhouse in New York. Mette is the ninth actor in the part. He is a graduate of Rollins College in Winter Park."
