Chun-Hao Chan was graduated from department of motion picture at National Taiwan University of Art. His graduation project The Roar (2018)(The Roar) which is a TV movie co-produced with Taiwan Public Television Service (PTS) was nominated for the best TV movie, the best director, and the best leading actor from 54th Taiwan Golden Bell Award. The film also gained nomination from 68th Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival, as well as several other international awards. His second film Viatical Settlement (2019)(Viatical Settlement), also co-produced with PTS, tells a crime story about insurance fraud, was nominated at Seattle International Film Festival.
Chan had played different roles including director, assistant director, cinematographer, producer of post-production and editor, in multiple project, commercials, TV movies, documentaries, etc. His works portrait the desire of small people and the social phenomena happens in Taiwan, started from social realism and lately developed into the genre of crime, mystery, thriller, sci-fi.
