Shemar Moore’s three-decade-long Hollywood career has seen him evolve from a soap opera heartthrob to a respected actor and family man. Moore’s life began with challenges that shaped his unique perspective. As a baby, he moved abroad with his mother after his parents separated, returning to the U.S. only years later.
Growing up biracial presented its own struggles. He often wrestled with questions about his identity. His mother’s advice fueled his early life and later influenced his rise in Hollywood, where he began as a model before landing a life-changing role in The Young and The Restless.

Moneyball is a terrific and unique sports movie based on a true story from Major League Baseball, but several key figures from the actual events are left out. Brad Pitt stars as Billy Beane, the general manager of the Oakland Athletics between 1997 and 2015, who was celebrated for his groundbreaking approach to baseball team management. Moneyball tells the story of Beane's ingenious use of sports analytics to redefine how baseball teams fill out their rosters, mixing elements of underdog sports movies with high-octane dialogue from acclaimed screenwriter Aaron Sorkin.
The true story of Moneyball is that the Athletics found themselves at a disadvantage compared to larger franchises like the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, where the big city market makes the teams inherently more appealing to star players. Thinking outside the box, Billy Beane incorporated new ideas for the 2002 baseball season and managed to send the underdog Athletics on...

Deadpool & Wolverine has reintroduced several iconic characters from older Marvel properties, including Evans’ Human Torch, Garner’s Elektra, and, most notably, Wesley Snipes’ Blade.
For those who might be less familiar, the original Blade trilogy holds significant importance in Marvel’s history. After Marvel filed for bankruptcy in 1996, Blade (1998) helped restore its reputation—not necessarily financially, but certainly in Hollywood and public perception. Blade was not only a financial hit but also set the standard for making lesser-known characters popular, leveraging an actor’s strengths, and crafting relatable superhero films.
Given this, Snipes’ portrayal of Blade is considered iconic, and many fans, including Ryan Reynolds, have taken to social media to express their wish for Blade to join the MCU, ideally with a “Logan-esque” farewell film.
However, the increased attention surrounding Deadpool & Wolverine has also brought to light some troubling aspects of Snipes’ past. Some fans are...

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has brought back several legacy characters from older Marvel properties. Fans were excited to see Evans’ Human Torch, Garner’s Elektra, and most of all, Wesley Snipes’ Blade.
If you’re a bit younger, you’re likely unaware of how important the original ‘Blade’ trilogy is to the Marvel movies. Marvel filed for bankruptcy in 1996, but ‘Blade’ (1998) put them back on the right path – perhaps not financially, per se, but certainly in the eyes of Hollywood and the public. Not only was ‘Blade’ a financial success – it provided the blueprint on how to make an obscure character popular, how to build on an actor’s strength, and how to make superhero movies relatable.

Bennett Miller's "Moneyball" is a lovely lie of a film. It's the Hollywood version of Michael Lewis' already-massaging-the-truth book about Billy Beane's epiphanic Major League Baseball success with sabermetrics (a statistics-based measurement of a player's value to the team) in rebuilding a partially gutted-by-free-agency Oakland Athletics team after the departure of their best offensive players. In Miller's film, unorthodox general manager Beane (Brad Pitt) hires stat nerd Peter Brand (based on front office guru Paul DePodesta and played by Jonah Hill) to help him build a contender for the cash-strapped A's by stocking their lineup with statistically productive players cast off or ignored by the rest of the league.
In the end, it works: the A's go on a (statistically unpredictable) 20-game win streak at the end of the season, win the American League West and go to the American League Division Series where they're defeated by the Minnesota Twins.

Halle Berry and her ex, the French actor Olivier Martinez, have hammered out a custody agreement nearly seven years after they were legally declared single.
According to legal documents, obtained by Et, the Oscar-winning actress will pay Martinez $8,000 per month in child support for their 9-year-old son, Maceo. On top of the monthly child support, Berry will also pay Martinez 4.3 percent of any income she receives above $2 million “for additional child support for Maceo.”
In the same docs, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, it’s noted that Berry, who shares physical and legal custody with Martinez, will also pay for Maceo’s private school tuition, school uniforms/supplies as well as 100 percent of any extracurricular activities Maceo’s involved with, like soccer. She’ll also be the one providing Maceo’s health coverage through her insurance.

Sports films have a history of casting professional athletes, and Moneyball is no exception. Casting sports icons can be a challenge, as finding an actor who can both resemble their physical stature and capture their personality, is incredibly difficult. But Moneyball isn't a tale of sporting legends or of greatness, it's a film about underdogs, and the use of intelligence and ingenuity to overcome unfairness and difficulty in the world of professional sports. The film isn't centered around sports scenes, like the traditional baseball movie, but rather around the work in the general manager's office and scouting room. Nevertheless, the baseball scenes are realistically performed by the professional players involved.
In the film's early production, Steven Soderbergh was set to direct, and he planned to build a cast of primarily real MLB players. In the final film, which was written by Aaron Sorkin and starred Brad Pitt, many of these players were replaced by actors,...

Halle Berry's ex sure had a lot to say about their relationship. It wasn't Olivier Martinez speaking out, though: It was Berry's first ex-husband David Justice who went on a Twitter rant in regards to their relationship. "Halle has never said that I hit her," he wrote, which is accurate: Berry never accused Justice of abuse nor has she ever publicly identified her abuser. It comes as a surprise to many that Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are divorcing. Then again, the fact they ever got married in the first place was shocking, too, when you consider Berry's previous stance on "I do's." During a 2007 interview with InStyle, the Oscar winner vowed, "I will never, never get married again," following her failed marriages to baseball star David Justice and singer Eric Benét. But sometime before January 2012 (when Berry, now 49, and Martinez, also 49, got engaged), Berry had a change of a heart. "It's another one of those never-say-never things," she told InStyle. "I'm a hopeless romantic, and I won't stop till I get it...

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez's baby-on-the-way isn't the only bit of happiness the couple has to look forward to: According to E! News, Berry and Martinez are planning to tie the knot this weekend in southern France.
Married twice before (to David Justice, then Eric Benet), Berry had initially sworn off the idea of walking down the aisle a third time. But sometime between falling for Martinez and confirming their engagement in March 2012, she obviously had a change of heart. "Never say never, people!" she quipped.
If the wedding does go down this weekend, expect the ceremony to be intimate. "I haven't been to many weddings, but I went to one this weekend with 250 guests," she told InStyle last year. "I thought, Wow -- so this is a wedding, huh? I've never had that, nor have I wanted that. I wasn't even trying to catch the bouquet!"
