Without getting too political here, it’s easy to point out the similarities to Mike Judge’s Idiocracy and some of our current society. Look, there’s a reason it was re-released ahead of the 2016 election. So do we really need a sequel? Luke Wilson thinks so!
Luke Wilson recently told Business Insider that he is constantly pitching the idea of an Idiocracy sequel to Mike Judge. “I always call Mike and tell him. He’s always busy and always working on a script. But I’ve always told him, how about me and Terry Crews and Dax Shepard coming back to the present day. We see Terry’s Camacho character become president, Dax’s character runs a movie studio. I’m always pitching that to Mike. He gets a kick out of it.”

Nearly two decades later, Luke Wilson is surprised by the following his cult satirical comedy Idiocracy (2005) still has.
The actor recently admitted that he’s “always pitching” co-writer/director Mike Judge on a sequel to the film, which starred him and Maya Rudolph as two people mistakenly left in cryosleep for 500 years, awaken in an era when the average human intelligence has decreased so much that Wilson’s Private Joe Bowers is now the smartest man in the world.
“Oh, I always call Mike and tell him,” Wilson told Business Insider of his interest in a sequel. “He’s always busy and always working on a script. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine wasn't the typical Star Trek fare. In fact, many fans were skeptical of a show that called itself Star Trek but was set on a space station instead of on a starship. Not to mention, when the show premiered, it was considerably darker than its predecessors. Though Star Trek: The Next Generation took on some heavy topics, Deep Space Nine went even deeper, and for writer, Robert Hewitt Wolfe, he didn't understand the show at first.
For Wolfe, the show wasn't as edgy as it was pitched to him, according to a report by Giant Freakin' Robot, and he was disappointed at first. He didn't think the characters were really being driven. Then one episode changed it all. That episode was the eighth of the first season, "Dax." In it, Jadzia Dax (Terry Farrell) is accused of a murder her previous host, Curzon, was supposedly responsible for.

Keep reading to find out more…
“My answer is that nobody uses just their fingers to wipe their backside. You use tissue, correct? And you wipe!” Cynthia said. She added that she puts the tissue paper on the “pads of the fingers” and not the tip of the fingernails.
Dax asked Cynthia if she was offended or annoyed by the interrogation.

"Star Trek" fans really had it all in the mid-1990s. The "Star Trek: The Next Generation" movies carried on the adventures of the Enterprise at the cinemas, while "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and "Star Trek: Voyager" told new stories of Starfleet on the television each week. It was truly an amazing time to be a "Star Trek" fan, although occasionally it could feel like "The Next Generation" got preferential treatment above the other two series. That was especially true when it came to how the events of "Deep Space Nine" were depicted in the "Next Generation" movies.
You see, the events of "Star Trek: Insurrection" take place during the Dominion War, which is the main arc of the final few seasons of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine." Lieutenant Commander Worf (Michael Dorn) went from serving on the Enterprise to the space station Deep Space Nine when "The Next Generation" went off the air,...

At the beginning of "Star Trek: Discovery," the character of Saru (Doug Jones) was a fearful figure. Saru is a Kelpien, a species that had, for many centuries, been raised as a food source for another, hungrier species. Kelpiens had evolved to think like prey, knowing that they would be, at any moment, hunted and processed into meat nuggets. Kelpiens accepted their fate because of a strange quirk of their biology; when Kelpiens reached a certain age, a series of behind-the-ears ganglia began to change color. This indicated that they were about to become feral, turning from gentle farm animals into vicious killers. To prevent this, Saru planned on committing ritual suicide.
It turned out, however, that Kelpien transformation was mere propaganda. When Saru reached maturity, his ganglia fell off, and he was suddenly more confident and open. He went from being fearful all the time to being frank, friendly,...

Patrick Stewart’s Jean-Luc Picard has certainly seen a lot through his time in the Star Trek franchise. Having traveled the vastness of space and experienced all that life has to offer, it is safe to say that fans have seen him in a variety of different situations. One of the most iconic, however, has to be The Perfect Mate chapter of his story.
Sir Patrick Stewart in Star Trek: Tng I Paramount+
Being the 21st episode of season 5 of Star Trek: The Next Generation, it featured Famke Janssen in the role of Kamala. What many may not know is that the actress was also offered another role after playing Stewart’s unwilling life partner. She was offered the role of Jadzia Dax in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
While many would jump on the opportunity to play a central character in such a high-profile franchise, Janssen had other plans.

Starfleet is nothing if not tolerant. Star Trek captains are known for pontificating about what humans can learn from other cultures, and what they owe the other species they come across. They are not known for announcing: “Now this is how I prefer the Borg. In pieces!”
Said by Voyager‘s Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), the statement hints at the barrier that Borg society seems to throw up across Star Trek shows. Wars aside, Starfleet captains don’t seem to want to even try to understand the Borg. It’s a tension that’s rooted in a huge culture clash, one that Starfleet can’t dismantle without dismantling its own ideological scaffolding.
In The Next Generation episode “I, Borg,” Jean-Luc Picard is happy to introduce a virus into the Borg, even though he’d balk at the thought of bringing such destruction to other races. He only backs off when...

Now, we’re getting somewhere!
It’s been many weeks since there was any movement on the Shaw Family drama front, but Tracker Season 1 Episode 11 had a nice subplot that answered many questions and finally introduced to someone else in the family.
Colter’s sibling reunion, of course, surrounded a case, but the two opened up a communication line that seemed to have Colter questioning more things about his past.
Before getting into the Colter and Dory stuff, a very twisty and odd case was at the forefront here.
And it was a damn interesting one, with Colter first suspecting a college student may have just bitten off a little more than he could chew and then quickly realizing he’d found himself engaged in some pretty dark stuff.
A college student feeling overwhelmed and wanting to take a break certainly wouldn’t be abnormal. Still, from the sounds of things,...

The season of the very first sign of the zodiac is here, and that’s exactly why being a leader comes so easy for Aries folks.
And that’s no joke, Aries really don’t know what else to be but a boss, CEO or innovator, because they’d rather play by their own rules. They march to the beat of their own drum and rarely ever need anyone to play backup instrumentals. Their charm, playful personality and great sense of humor make up for their impulsiveness and sometimes hot-temper, and there’s absolutely no other sign who will keep it all the way real with you like an Aries does, even if it’s something you don’t want to hear. They tell it like it is, as dishonesty goes against their entire m.o.

Amy Duggar King welcomed her son, Daxton “Dax” Ryan in October of 2019 and now his grandmother, Deanna Duggar claims he died but came back after meeting God. Deanna is the sister of Jim Bob Duggar from TLC’s 19 KIds and Counting and Counting On. Read on to find out the details.
Deanna Duggar Claims Amazing Experience For Dax
Dax went to be with Jesus, but don’t stress about it. Miraculously, the son of Amy Duggar and Dillon King came back to tell the tale. According to his grandmother, it happened when he was 10 months old. So, it would have been in about August of 2020. Apparently, he fell down and injured his head.

There are few greater pleasures, for me, than watching an old film that I have admired all my life resurrected in all its pristine glory. The distributor Eureka Entertainment is a dab hand at such home entertainment miracles and this week releases a Special Edition 4K Ultra-hd Blu-ray of Stanley Kubrick’s anti-war classic Paths of Glory. To be honest, I only watch the film about once a decade at most, but its power never diminishes. After watching it again, in the crispest print I have yet seen, I felt completely numb by the end. And rightly so. The war film has never been the same again since Saving Private Ryan in 1998, but Paths of Glory, made in 1957, summons up neither special effects nor the gore of war, just the abominable power of words and language, semantics used to distort the meaning of heroism and sacrifice.

The ladies on The View have been turning on each other lately, even more than usual.
The show’s premise is to debate the hot topics, not make digs at the other ladies on the panel. But it looks like that is all that has happened lately.
Recently, Joy Behar has been going after Sara Haines. Sara was sick this week, and Joy savagely mocked her age, calling her too old for Pms symptoms, implying she was menopausal.
Today, Joy and the ladies attacked Sara again, immediately putting her on the defensive. Joy did not give her a day back in her seat to recover after her illness before she pounced.
The broad topic Joy brought up became hyper-focused on Sara; her parenting caused Sara to explain her mindset.
It all began when Joy shared that Bradley Cooper went on Dax Shepherd’s podcast, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepherd, and...

Dax knew almost immediately the first line he wanted to write for “To Be a Man” when he heard the beat of the track.

Production on MaXXXine, the sequel to director Ti West‘s films Pearl (watch it Here) and X (watch that one at This Link), is said to have wrapped last May, around the time that production company and distributor A24 unveiled a first look image from the movie that shows franchise star Mia Goth alongside singer Halsey. (That image can be seen at the bottom of this article.) Things have been pretty quiet on the MaXXXine front since then, aside from news of a lawsuit being filed by a background actor – but now, thanks to the YouTube interview show What’s Under the Bed?, we have a bit of a status update from West, who also happened to show off a prop from the film during his interview.
At about the 26:37 point of the What’s Under the Bed? interview, West is asked about the props he has kept from the movies he has made.

The premise for "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" is a little complex for the non-Trekkie, but ripe for drama when one delves in.
The titular station, Deep Space Nine, was in orbit around the non-Federation world of Bajor. For the past several decades, Bajor had been militarily occupied by the Nazi-like Cardassians, a species that regularly enslaved and mass-murdered Bajoran citizens. At the outset of the series, the Cardassian occupation had just ended, and Bajor inherited their disused station. In order to aid the Bajoran restoration, Starfleet was assigned to run Deep Space Nine and to oversee the rebuilding of Bajor's government (which was already tilting dangerously close to a corrupt theocracy).
Commander Sisko (Avery Brooks) was the Starfleet officer put in charge of the broken-down DS9 and his first officer was the haughty former Bajoran resistance fighter, Major Kira (Nana Visitor). "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" was unique in...

In the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode "The Outcast", the crew of the Enterprise aids a species called the J'naii in locating and rescuing a missing shuttlecraft. The J'naii are a genderless species, claiming to have evolved past specific gender identities. In their society, any expression of maleness or femaleness is considered darkly taboo, and gendered sexual contact has been criminalized. Commander Riker (Jonathan Frakes) spends a great deal of the episode working with a J'naii pilot named Soren (Melinda Culea) and the two bond. Soren will eventually reveal that she feels more female than genderless and that she is attracted to Riker. When Soren's gender identity reaches the other J'naii officials, she is threatened with the sci-fi equivalent of a conversion camp.
By today's politics, "The Outcast" feels clumsy in its attempts to discuss gender identity. It can, however, be commended for even attempting to tell a trans...

At the very end of the first season of "Star Trek: Picard," after the story had concluded and everyone was headed back home, the violent bounty hunter Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) and Admiral Picard's close friend Raffi (Michelle Hurd) sat idly conversing. They reached out and began romantically holding hands, implying that the characters were initiating a romance. Previously throughout "Star Trek," both Seven and Raffi had only been seen having romances with men, so their respective bisexuality came as a pleasant surprise.
Sadly, at the start of the second season of "Picard," enough time had passed that Seven and Raffi had already dated for a while ... and had broken up. There was now a great deal of romantic resentment between them, and they had to struggle to fulfill their mission in the 21st century (the second season featured a time travel plot). Keith headbutted Kingston, knocking Kingston off the turnbuckles and sending Kingston tumbling to the arena floor.

Elizabeth Banks wants a 'Migration' sequel. The Benjamin Renner-directed Illuminations animation about a group of ducks getting lost in New York City has just hit cinemas, and the 49-year-old actress would love to return for a European adventure as the quick-witted Pam Mallard. She told RadioTimes.com: "Oh, we're going to Europe. You know, that's the next… we're definitely doing the Mediterranean, I think.”Whether or not a second film is in the works remains unknown. The star-studded voice cast also includes Kumail Nanjiani, Keegan-Michael Key, Awkwafina, David Mitchell, and Danny DeVito. The plot for the flick is: "In a New England forest, Mack Mallard constantly discourages his kids Dax and Gwen from venturing into the outside world much to the displeasure of his wife Pam."One day, the Mallards meet a flock of migrating ducks who are en route south to Jamaica which the family finds interesting, but Mack has no such interest.

Co-scripted by White (a vegan), and superbly voiced by the likes of Awkwafina and David Mitchell, this family comedy about migrating ducks is a fun ride with clipped wings
You could do worse at half-term than this new family animation from Illumination (the studio behind Sing and Minions). It’s a zany caper about a family of mallards; it’s not particularly original, with ideas and laughs that feel a little dusty, like they’ve been cobbled from bits and bobs knocking around the studio. But there are enough high jinks – as well as a seriously cute duckling – to keep it on the flight path.
In New England, a daddy duck called Mack (voiced by Kumail Nanjiani) is risk-averse and overprotective of his two kids: teenager Dax (Caspar Jennings) and that adorable duckling, Gwen (Tresi Gazal). Somehow, the kids twist Mack’s wing into migrating south for the first time,...

Gru, and the popular yellow minions, are back in Despicable Me 4, and here’s the trailer for the film.
The Minions might just be the most iconic animated creations of recent years. Since the release of Despicable Me in 2010, the excitable, anarchic creatures have embedded themselves in popular culture. So far, there have been three films in the main series, and two phenomenally successful solo outings – 2015’s Minions and 2022’s Minions: The Rise Of Gru. The former is in the top ten highest grossing animated films of all time.
That brings us to the fourth installment of the Despicable Me franchise, that’s arriving this summer. The synopsis reads as follows:
Following the 2022 summer blockbuster phenomenon of Illumination’s Minions: The Rise of Gru, which earned almost $1B worldwide, the biggest global animated franchise in history now begins a new chapter as Gru (Steve Carrell) and Lucy (Kristen Wiig) and their girls —Margo,...

“To the man who this year started using his flashlight to read the menu, who eats 175 g of protein a day, who loves his friends ferociously, who never balks when I ask him to participate in a dress-up party, who taught our daughters how to change a tire, who once had the hiccups for 72 hours, who still loves a savage tan, who snuggles with the dogs even though he doesn’t like them, who fixes all the bikes, and who always riles the kids up before bedtime: I will never be able to...

(from left) Pam (Elizabeth Banks), Uncle Dan (Danny DeVito), Gwen (Tresi Gazal), Mack (Kumail Nanjiani), Dax (Caspar Jennings), Delroy (Keegan-Michael Key) and Chump (Awkwafina) in Illumination’s Migration, directed by Benjamin Renner. It was 10 years ago that Keegan-Michael Key got his first voice casting in an animated film, The Lego Movie. It was the start of a big new career for him — since then, he’s made 13 more, including the new film Migration. Key told us that, as he’s gotten more experience working as an animated voiceover artist, he’s learned more and more about how to bring characters to life, which usually has him getting pretty animated himself. Though we’re just seeing the film now, Elizabeth Banks has been involved with Migration for quite a while. Banks, who voices the character of the mother bird in a family that’s trying to migrate south for the winter, told us that the process of making Migration was impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, but that didn’t matter because the film’s themes are timeless.
