Shin Matsuba(I)

Shinichi "Shin" Matsuba was born in Miyazaki, Japan. He played baseball throughout his youth, and excelled in Kyokushin-Karate and Kickboxing, becoming a regional champion many times. These skills and physical abilities later supported him as a stunt performer. Following graduation from university in Fukuoka with a degree in International Business and Marketing, Shin began to pursue his interest in acting. In addition to training as an understudy for a theatre company in Fukuoka, he began to actively work in theater and accept live performance engagements locally for two years.
Shin became a full-time actor/stunt performer in 2012 when he signed on with Universal Studios Japan. He appeared in the world's biggest stunt show, WaterWorld, Terminator 2:3D, and many other major live shows and theatre performances both inside and outside of Universal. Shin used these opportunities to expand his career into film and television.
After six years of developing his craft and career in Japan, Shin moved to Los Angeles, California in 2018. He graduated from the prestigious Los Angeles Performing Arts Conservatory (LAPAC) with a professional acting certificate.
Notably, Shin has appeared on multiple major TV shows including the very popular History Channel TV series, The Food that Built America, appearing as Rocky Aoki, the founder of Benihana; a Discovery+ TV series, Tales From The Explorers Club; several films; and numerous national commercials and advertisements. The variety of Shin's work and the depth of his experience ensure that he continues to hone his skills and prepare for more demanding roles.
