Satrabit Paul

Satrabit Paul was born in a small town called Haldibari in the district of Coochbehar in West Bengal in the year 1986. After studying in Shantiniketan, he started his acting career with a television serial. From childhood he has been interested in theatre and involved with the local theatre group Progoti Yuva Natya Sangstha. In 2018, he (directorial venture) participated in Kolkata Natya Mela. Writing has always been his passion. His major projects as a writer include Water Bottle (ZEE5 Original series) and Unicorn (Dir: Tathagata Mukherjee, forthcoming). He made his first documentary on his father in 2011. In 2015 he directed another documentary on his school. In 2016, he directed a short film Asamapta. As an actor his significant works are Water Bottle, Buno etc.His directorial debut in the field of full-length feature film is Nitantoi Sahaj Saral (2021). His favorite filmmakers are Satyajit Ray and Buddhadeb Dasgupta. As a filmmaker a significant aspect of his vision is the rural pastoral landscapes of Bengal.
