Karanvir Malhotra was born on 4th October 1995 in New Delhi.
He made his debut in the Netflix Original Series 'Selection Day' in 2018. Selection Day is based on a book written by Arvind Adiga and the series was produced by Anil Kapoor Films and Anand Tucker. He plays the character of Javed Ansari who is the captain of the school cricket team and the rival to both the brothers.
India Today described his character as having 'The most interesting trajectory who started out as a confident, charming and vivacious boy on surface and who is also a bully and an insecure person, but as the story unfolds, viewers get to explore his deeper side where a loving (to the point of turning obsessive), independent yet deeply wounded soul resides.'
His performance as Javed garnered both critical and public appreciation.
Subsequently, he starred in 'The Forgotten Army' written and directed by Kabir Khan for Amazon Prime. He essays the role of Amar who's a photojournalist and takes his war veteran grand uncle to all the places the INA (Indian National Army) traversed during their march from Singapore to Delhi. At the time it was one of the most expensive series to have come out of India.
He then made his independent film debut in the Netflix exclusive film 'What Are The Odds?' Produced by Abhay Deol and FilmKaravan who later went on to produce the International Emmy Award winning series 'Delhi Crime'. The film was chosen as the closing night film at the prestigious Indian Film Festival of LA in 2019. India Today wrote about his performance saying 'Karanvir Malhotra makes an impressive film debut after starring in web shows like Selection Day and The Forgotten Army. He fits the bill of a determined teenage boy and often makes us look at him with awe.'
