A popular Hulu series has been renewed for season 3. The streaming platform, which debuted in 2007, was originally developed as a service for watching recent episodes of traditionally broadcast series online. While this aspect of the platform's original intent remains to a certain degree, thanks to their partnership with FX, they have since begun to operate as a more typical streaming service, offering licensed movies and television shows alongside original programming. The platform is now owned by Disney and their library features a great deal of crossover with Disney+.
It wasn't until 2011 that Hulu original series began to debut on the platform, followed by original scripted shows in 2012. Over the years, they have debuted many shows that were both critical and commercial successes. This includes the Margaret Atwood adaptation The Handmaid's Tale, which has won 15 Emmys and two Golden globes, the restaurant dramedy The Bear, which has 21 Emmys and four Golden Globes,...

Tell Me Lies has officially been renewed for a third season at Hulu after rumblings that it would be happening soon!
Executive producer Meaghan Oppenheimer will continue on as showrunner. Fun fact: Meaghan is married to Tom Ellis, who starred as Oliver in season 2.
Season two also starred Grace Van Patten, Jackson White, Cat Missal, Spencer House, Sonia Mena, Branden Cook, and Alicia Crowder, among others. We anticipate the main cast will all be back for season three, though nothing has been confirmed by Hulu at this time.
Season Two of Tell Me Lies picked up as Lucy Albright (Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (White) return to college, not speaking after their dramatic breakup at the start of summer. Yet, while very much at odds, they find themselves in a new version of their addictive dynamic – which is as infuriating as it is inescapable. Meanwhile, the story expands deeper into...

“Tell Me Lies” will be back for another season at Hulu, and that’s the truth.
The soapy college-set drama series has been renewed for a third season, Hulu announced on Thursday, with showrunner and EP Meaghan Oppenheimer remaining at the helm.
First premiering in September 2022, “Tell Me Lies” tells the twisted love story between Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White), which extends years past their college graduation into another timeline eight years later. Season 2 picked up after their dramatic breakup at the end of summer and saw the pair fall into a new toxic dynamic as exes, while also following the relationship woes within their friend group.
Season 2 also added “Gossip Girl” actor Thomas Doherty as a love interest for Lucy, as well as “Lucifer” star Tom Ellis as Oliver, a married professor who becomes intertwined with the group through his relationship with Bree (Missal...

Hulu is going deeper into the tangled web of Tell Me Lies.
The streamer has ordered a third season of Tell Me Lies, which follows the twisted/toxic romance between two people (Grace Van Patten and Jackson White) in their college and young adult years. The renewal comes about two months after season two ended on a cliffhanger. Meaghan Oppenheimer, who created the series based on Carola Lovering’s 2018 novel, will continue as showrunner.
Like most streamers, Hulu doesn’t release detailed viewing data about its programming. However, it notes that Tell Me Lies remained in the on-screen “Top 15 Today” list for more than 50 consecutive days during and after its season two run.
Following the season two finale, Oppenheimer told The Hollywood Reporter that she wasn’t sure whether a third season was in the offing — but if it ended up not happening, she’d be Ok with leaving some...

Hulu has handed a Season 3 renewal to Tell Me Lies, its popular drama series starring Grace Van Patten and Jackson White and produced by 20th Television. Additionally, Tell Me Lies creator, executive producer and showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer has signed an overall deal with 20th TV, a part of Disney Television Studios.
The pickup comes a little over two months after the release of the Season 2 finale, which, just like the Season 1 closer, ended with a cliffhanger twist that threatens to tear the friend group apart.
The renewal was expected. Tell Me Lies stayed in the Hulu Top 15 for over 50 straight days throughout its Season 2 run. Popular with the younger crowd, the series’ social engagement increased 8X vs Season 1 over the same period, with total followers growing 4.3X.
Under her multi-year overall deal, Oppenheimer will continue to helm Tell Me Lies as showrunner while also developing, writing and executive produce original...

Hulu’s Tell Me Lies has a big following, and after season two wrapped up in the Fall, fans are eager to know if a third season is coming.
The TV show wrapped up with a big cliffhanger of Bree (Cat Missal) getting a voice memo from Stephen (Jackson White) confirming that Lucy (Grace Van Patten) had slept with her future husband Evan (Branden Cook). There were also other story lines that viewers have been desperate to see more of, including Diana (Alicia Crowder) and Pippa (Sonia Mena)’s romance, who keeps calling Bree, how do Stephen and Lydia get together, and so much more.
Now, during DeuxMoi’s Twitter (aka X) takeover of Yahoo’s account, they claimed more news is coming soon.

This post contains spoilers for "Tell Me Lies."
A lot of bad stuff happens on the Hulu original series "Tell Me Lies" — helmed by Meagan Oppenheimer and adapted from Carola Lovering's hit novel — and one of the very worst things happens to Macy Campbell (Lily McInerny). A young woman who ends up caught in Stephen DeMarco's (Jackson White) orbit (which is largely troubling because Stephen is terrible to women) and who has a connection to the series protagonist Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) in both the book and show, Macy meets a terrible and tragic fate, and in both narratives, it ends up creating huge consequences for everyone.
"Tell Me Lies," which mostly focuses on the tortured relationship between Stephen and Lucy in the book but devotes plenty of time to the supporting characters on the Hulu show, is pretty dark, and the story of what happens to Macy is no exception.

The Tell Me Lies ending concludes with Stephen (Jackson White) shocking Lucy (Grace Van Patten) at two different points in time. Based on the novel by Carola Lovering, Tell Me Lies season 1 is mostly set in 2007-2008. This is during Lucy's freshman year at Baird College in New York while Stephen is a junior. The season is book-ended by Lucy and Stephen, who haven't seen each other in four years, attending the wedding of their friends, Bree (Catherine Missal) and Evan (Branden Cook) in 2015.
The Tell Me Lies ending sees Lucy reeling from the fallout of the letter she anonymously wrote and sent to Baird College's administration, asking them to investigate her roommate Macy's (Lily McInery) car accident death. Lucy and Stephen are mired in their toxic relationship, with Lucy holding the fact that she is "protecting" Stephen because he was in the car when Macy died, while Stephen...

Following arguably a more toxic season than the first, the second finale of the hit Hulu series featured tragic, surprising and jaw-dropping moments from beginning to end, including Wrigley’s (Spencer House) younger brother Drew’s (Benjamin Wadsworth) death, Oliver’s (Tom Ellis) open-marriage reveal, Diana’s (Alicia Crowder) orchestrated breakup with Stephen, and Stephen dropping a bombshell on Bree (Catherine Missal) and Evan’s (Branden Cook) wedding day in the 2015 timeline, among others.

Let’s get this out of the way now. For anyone who read my review for Tell Me Lies Season 2 Episode 7, I had no idea someone was actually going to die!
I was as shocked as everyone else! There was so much that happened in this finale that it’s hard to keep track of who’s life is on fire and who’s isn’t.
Suffice it to say, Tell Me Lies Season 2 Episode 8 dropped nuclear bombs on the story. Not everyone is walking away unscathed.
(Disney/Screenshot)
However, there is one character who deserves the title of Mvp of Tell Me Lies Season 2. This girl put in the work, and she came out on top. I can’t wait until Stephen finds out.

Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers from the Season 2 finale of “Tell Me Lies,” now streaming on Hulu.
Season 2 of “Tell Me Lies” came crashing to an end — in both the 2008 and the 2015 timelines. In an attempt to sum up everything that happened: Stephen (Jackson White) and Diana (Alicia Crowder) broke up — an idea she made him think was his doing, but she’d been planning all along to get him away. There was no sadness at all for Stephen, who immediately slept with Lucy (Grace Van Patten). Right after that hookup, Lucy went back to Leo (Thomas Doherty) and slept with him — without even changing her underwear. That tidbit came in hand for Stephen later when he brought up what she was wearing to prove to Leo they’d hooked up hours before and led to Leo punching him repeatedly until his face was unrecognizable.

After watching Jackson White’s Stephen torment Grace Van Patten’s Lucy all throughout the second season of “Tell Me Lies,” Stephen switches up his behavior at the end of Episode 7 in what White calls a “desperate” decision.
Reckoning with whether he’s a good person or not, Stephen turns his attention from Diana (Alicia Crowder) back to Lucy as he arrives at her dorm room and asks her candidly if she knew he was a bad person while they were dating — which she replies “yes” — and if, even still, she loved him then, which she also replies “yes.” He then confesses that he, too, despite knowing the worst things about Lucy, still loves her and makes a proposition for the pair to be together.
“It’s very desperate and guttural,” White told TheWrap of Stephen’s decision to go back to Lucy.

As “Tell Me Lies” hinges closer to its Season 2 finale, Episode 6 sees an explosive confrontation that star Grace Van Patten identifies as a “turning point” for Lucy — and Stephen.
With tensions already high during a snowed-in Thanksgiving, Stephen (Jackson White) tries his hardest to interrupt the carefree romance between Lucy (Van Patten) and Leo (Thomas Doherty), and eventually hits one of Lucy’s buttons when Stephen reveals Leo’s ex-girlfriend cheated on him with Stephen. Lucy lashes out at Stephen — and Diana (Alicia Crowder) via a drunken slap — which hits a switch for Leo.
Overwhelmed by the situation, Leo tells Lucy the dynamic reminds him of his strained childhood and breaks up with Lucy. Feeling ashamed of herself, Lucy doesn’t fight for their relationship, with Van Patten saying her character “knows she’s not capable of … reciprocating love.

They were the slaps heard around the world on Tell Me Lies Season 2 Episode 6! Do people actually play slap-shot? That seems like a surefire way to end some friendships!
Granted, most of these characters are already on shaky ground with each other. It seems like the writers wanted to find the most volatile way to ruin Thanksgiving.
Tell Me Lies is not pulling any punches, and neither is Lucy! This episode was supercharged with high-flying hormones and emotions to the max! It’s no wonder some of these characters are not doing great academically.
(Josh Stringer/Disney)
That said, the series excels at sucking viewers right into the squabbles and underhanded attempts to ruin lives and reputations. It’s a wonder that any of them showed up at Bree’s wedding in 2015.

Mama, the straights are not okay because these kids on Tell Me Lies are wildin’ out with Nick Cannon and have got me plucked! Listen, I am all about the drama, but these children are mess, mess, messy!
If you had told me a year ago that I would be this invested in a show about the most extra and dramatic college kids ever, I would’ve said you’d never catch me watching a single frame.
Well, we will call this growth something that the characters on Tell Me Lies desperately need. Even the adult characters who should know better seem just as childish. It is pettiness to the max, and I love it!

[This story contains spoilers from episode four of Tell Me Lies season two, “Just Stable Children.”]
Sonia Mena and Alicia Crowder’s Tell Me Lies characters, Pippa and Diana, have already brought one of the biggest shockers of the season. And it’s only four episodes in.
After viewers saw the flash-forward at the end of the season two premiere of the Meaghan Oppenheimer-created Hulu series — which teased a romantic relationship between the pair in the 2015 timeline — many have likely been wondering how the two former classmates got there. Especially since they’re not that close in college, and Diana is still very wrapped up with Stephen (Jackson White) and his drama with Lucy (Grace Van Patten) in 2008.
But now, after the fourth episode, viewers might start to see a shift in the dynamic after Diana finds the photos of Macy on Stephen’s computer, which only confirms what Lucy told her regarding his involvement in Macy...

Now that we know Pippa (Sonia Mena) and Diana (Alicia Crowder) are together in the 2015 timeline on Tell Me Lies, it makes us wonder about their road to a romantic relationship. In TV Insider’s exclusive preview of the September 9 episode, Diana stops by Pippa’s dorm room for a check-in. “I wanted to check on you, make sure you’re okay,” Diana tells Pippa, who says she’s fine. Diana mentions how things were “pretty rough last night” for Pippa. At the party the night before, Diana walked in on a barely conscious Pippa, who seemingly had been sexually assaulted by Chris (Jacob Rodriguez), Lydia’s brother. Diana and Lucy (Grace Van Patten) helped Pippa get home safely. Pippa is confused by Diana’s presence, given her connection to Stephen (Jackson White). “I’m sure Stephen thought the whole story was hilarious,” Pippa quips. Diana promises she didn’t...

Hulus Tell Me Lies has a big twist that could get the showrunner cancelled. This TV adaptation of Carola Loverings 2018 novel of the same name initially premiered on Hulu in late 2022. The show, just like the source material, follows the tumultuous relationship between the central characters, Lucy and Stephen, over an 8-year period. Season 1 managed strong viewership numbers, and it also garnered a dedicated audience, leading Hulu to renew Tell Me Lies season 2.
Now, following the release of the first two episodes of Tell Me Lies season 2, showrunner Megan Oppenheimer reveals to The Hollywood Reporter that episode 7 of the new season has a huge twist that she envisages will cause a lot of controversy. She further revealed that the idea immediately divided the writers' room into two after pitching it, but they ultimately decided to include it in the show. Read her full comments below:

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Episodes 1 and 2 of Tell Me Lies Season 2.] Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) is still down bad for Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White), whether she likes it or not, but she won’t let him know it. She returns to Baird with a fresh, post-Stephen outlook, but seeing Stephen again chisels the first cracks in her resolve. TV Insider spoke with Van Patten and White about Lucy and Stephen’s clashes in the first episodes of Season 2. “I think when you first see her before she goes to school, she’s really convinced herself that she’s okay,” Van Patten said. “I think she’s completely in denial. The much anticipated second season of Tell Me Lies dropped its first two episodes on Wednesday, September 4, and new installments will be released weekly on Hulu. While the premise centers around Lucy and Stephen's tumultuous relationship, the ensemble cast and the characters' individual storylines serve as the show's main draw. Adapted for television by Meaghan Oppenheimer, Tell Me Lies Season 2 stars Grace Van Patten, Jackson White, Sonia Mena, Alicia Crowder, Branden Cook, Spencer House, Cat Missal, Tom Ellis, and Thomas Doherty.
Doherty, who is previously known for HBO's Gossip Girl reboot, is one of the show's latest additions. He portrays Lucy's new love interest, Leo, while Cook and House reprise their roles as Evan and Wrigley. The actors tease choppy waters ahead, as the characters are forced to deal with the repercussions of their actions. While the season 1 finale reveals everyone's present-day circumstances, the chain of events remains a mystery.

Love to hate, or hate to love? That is the question in Tell Me Lies Season 2. Hulu dropped the official trailer for the second season, based on Carola Lovering’s novel, on August 8. Lucy (Grace Van Patten), Stephen (Jackson White), Diana (Alicia Crowder), Pippa (Sonia Mena), Bree (Catherine Missal), Wrigley (Spencer House), and Evan (Branden Cook) all return to Baird for a new semester, and the battle lines are drawn after Stephen and Lucy’s messy breakup at the end of Season 1. Stephen doesn’t waste any time gaslighting and twisting the knife in Lucy’s back when they get back to school. “I’m really sorry for hurting you so badly last year. I embarrassed you over and over again, and I’m sure that made you feel terrible about yourself,” Stephen says, his words laced with venom. But Lucy’s had enough of Stephen’s games (for now). “You’re right.

Hulu’s steamy drama series “Tell Me Lies” is returning this fall and will showcase a toxic new dynamic between recent exes Lucy and Stephen.
In Thursday’s trailer for the new season, which debuts Wednesday, Sept. 4, Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) reunite at college following their dramatic breakup at the start of summer. Lucy is determined to shake off the drama and focus on school, insisting she’s not even worried about Stephen. In fact, she says she was in some sort of “delusional state last year.”
Upon their return to college, however, Stephen’s taunting doesn’t help her case, as he approaches her with a public apology, admitting he embarrassed her “over and over again.” “I’m sure that made you feel terrible about yourself,” he tells Lucy in the trailer.
“You’re right — I am still mad,” she concedes later on.
