Macário is a renowned Brazilian black film director, film curator, and multi-artist who is prominent in the national and international scene. With a degree in Cinema and a Master's in Ethnic-Racial Relations, his work focuses on representation and the fight against racial prejudice, given the historical inequalities faced by black people. With a vast experience in the area, Macário also acts as film curator for the Zózimo Bulbul Black Cinema Festival - Brazil, Africa, Caribbean and Other Diasporas, selecting works that bring up relevant issues for the black community.
