Sumit R. Sinha is an India Script writer-director and has written many short stories in the leading Magazine and Newspapers in India. He is also known for his literary critic. Sumit is best known for Kalankini an adaptation of popular Indian Novelist Gulshan Nanda, Lakeeran (2018), a landmark work and Wapasi. Other well-known works are the short-story collection Char din ki Chandani, and currently writing a novel Dargaah and Bioscope. His other writings include Sapne kaise honge apne, Chulbul Ki Duniya, Chand Chor Le Gaya published letters and occasional journalism.
Born and brought up in a middle-class family, Sumit hails from Gaya, a world famous city known for the land of Enlightment of Buddha and home town of many literary personalities, Classical Music Artist and artist. It's a cultural capital of Bihar. He briefly attended Company High School initially and then completed schooling Kendriya Vidyalaya before graduating in Physics at Gaya College, in Magadh University. Despite the chaotic family life imposed by his father's unpredictable finances, he, further, went on to attend Masters in Business Administration from reputed Management Development Institute in National Capital Region Delhi, India.
Making film was his childhood dreams and has been attempting in many ways to excel himself in writing, Acting and Music in school days but most of the dramatic and dialogue writing, he learnt from his father, an aspirant novelist. Sumit is a good painter and had won many prizes and accolades since his school days and in colleges. Chasing his dream, he pursued Diploma in Film Direction from Mumbai University and completed successfully.
In 2008, he left his job and started his work in Advertising Industry as Director. he worked for historical TV series Gautam Buddha.
At present, he is working with a London based Film Production Company as script writer. He elucidated this preoccupation somewhat, saying, "For myself, I always write about my culture, my country, my people, my religion, because if I can get to the heart of these, I can get to the heart of all the people of the world.
