Comedy “Pivoting” has been canceled after just one season at Fox, Variety has confirmed.

The midseason single-cam sitcom starring Eliza Coupe, Ginnifer Goodwin and Maggie Q, concluded its 10-episode first season March 10.

Set in a small, middle-class town in Long Island, NY, “Pivoting” follows close-knit childhood friends Amy (Coupe), Jodie (Goodwin) and Sarah (Q) as they cope with the death of the fourth member of their group. When faced with the reality that life is short, these women pivot, and alter their current paths, by way of a series of impulsive, ill-advised and self-indulgent decisions. These pivots will strengthen their bond and prove it’s never too late to screw up your life in the pursuit of happiness.

Along with Coupe, Goodwin and Q, the short-lived comedy stars Tommy Dewey as Henry, Jt Neal as Matt and Marcello Reyes as Luke.

Set to premiere Sunday, Jan. 9 at 8:30 p.m, Pivoting follows three women after the death of their childhood best friend. Faced with the reality that life is short, in desperate attempts to find happiness, they make a series of impulsive, ill-advised and self-indulgent decisions, strengthening their bond proving it’s never too late to screw up your life.

During its TCA press day, Fox unveiled the trailer for the comedy, which sees the leading women find new sense of style, take up new family dynamics, get back on the dating scene and more.

“If Colleen’s death has taught us anything, it’s that we have to live our best lives now,” Goodwin says in the clip.

In Fox’s upcoming comedy Pivoting, the death of a childhood friend sends three mourning women into sheer panic mode.

Premiering Sunday, Jan. 9 at 8:30/7:30c, the single-camera series follows three impulsive women whose lives are flipped upside down following the loss of someone close. “Faced with the reality that life is short,” the trio of women makes “desperate attempts to find happiness,” before discovering that “it’s never too late to screw up your life,” according to the official logline.

Fox is getting a head start on its early January schedule.

The broadcast network has confirmed three premiere dates for the begininng of 2022.

First up, we have Gordon Ramsey's latest series, Next Level Chef, which is set to launch Sunday, January 2 in the 8 p.m. slot out of an NFL Doubleheader.

The same tactic will be used the following Sunday for the Season 2 debut of Call Me Kat and the series premiere of Pivoting.

The network has not announced regular timeperiods for the trio of series, so we'll have to stay tuned for more on that.

Fox has picked up to series Pivoting, its half-hour single-camera comedy pilot headlined by Eliza Coupe, Ginnifer Goodwin and Maggie Q. The project, written and executive produced by Liz Astrof, hails from Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, Warner Bros TV and Fox Entertainment.

Pivoting was the last of the produced 2020 Fox pilots whose fate had not been decided. Of the others, comedy This Country and dramas The Big Leap and The Cleaning Lady have been picked up to series, while the network passed on drama pilots Blood Relative and The Goonies-themed Film Reenactment Project.

Additionally, Fox handed orders to both of its straight-to-series dramas, which had opened writers rooms, Our Kind Of People and Monarch.

Fox has given a series order to the half-hour comedy “Pivoting” starring Eliza Coupe, Ginnifer Goodwin and Maggie Q, the network said Monday.

The single-camera comedy, written by “2 Broke Girls” and “The Conners” alum Liz Astrof, follows three women after the death of their childhood best friend. Faced with the reality that life is short and in a desperate attempt to find happiness, they make a series of impulsive, ill-advised and self-indulgent decisions, strengthening their bond and proving it’s never too late to screw up your life.

Tommy Dewey, Jt Neal and Marcello Julian Reyes also star.

Astrof is writer and executive producer alongside Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor of Kapital Entertainment. Veteran comedy director Tristram Shapeero is director and executive producer on the pilot from Warner Bros. Television, Fox Entertainment and Kapital.
