Nick Tarabay to star in ‘Spartacus: House of Ashur’ (Photo Credit: Starz)
In February 2023, prior to the huge writers and actors strikes, Starz announced their plans to revisit the world of Spartacus. Now that the dust has (basically) settled on both strikes, Starz revealed the new Spartacus chapter will be called Spartacus: House of Ashur and that Nick Tarabay is reprising his role as Ashur.
Tarabay played the villainous character in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena and Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
Spartacus creator, writer, and executive producer Steven S. DeKnight returns to guide the new 10-episode season as showrunner. “To be afforded the opportunity to return a decade later to a series you loved is such a rare, wonderful opportunity,” said Steven S. DeKnight. “I could not be more excited to craft this next chapter in the Spartacus saga with Starz, Lionsgate, and the incomparable Nick Tarabay.”

Starz is ready to return to the world of gladiators with a new chapter in the Spartacus franchise. Spartacus series creator Steven S. DeKnight is also diving back into ancient Rome as writer, executive producer, and showrunner on the new series.
“It’s such an incredible honor to be invited to return to the world of Spartacus and to be met with unbridled creative support from my colleagues at Starz and Lionsgate,” said Steven S. DeKnight. “Together we are crafting something truly unique and unusual for the next chapter in this epic story.”
DeKnight took to Twitter to confirm he’s currently writing the pilot.

The tables are turned on serial killer Mick Taylor in the latest iteration of Wolf Creek commissioned by Stan, which starts shooting today at the Adelaide Studios and numerous locations in South Australia.
Vampire Academy.s Lucy Fry plays Eve, an American tourist in the six-part series directed by Tony Tilse and Greg Mclean, scripted by Peter Gawler and Felicity Packard.
John Jarratt.s Mick sets out to murder Eve.s family but she survives, rebuilds her shattered existence and vows revenge.
The series will have a markedly different tone to Mclean.s horror movies, focusing on Eve.s journey. Stan content and product director Nick Forward tells If, .No one wanted to make a 6-hour horror movie. We spent six months with the producers and writers looking for a hook for a televisual drama.
.Mick Taylor is still the grim reaper but this is a thriller about Eve.s journey.

Tomorrow night at 10, Cinemax premieres the final season of "Strike Back," the rip-roaring buddy action drama about a pair of soldiers working for an elite British special forces unit. In the four seasons of its Cinemax incarnation (one season aired first in England, with an entirely different cast led by Richard Armitage), it's been a pleasure to watch: always smarter, more technically proficient, and just plain better than it ever needed to be. Now it's coming to an end, with a new season that kicks off in Thailand and features guest stars like Michelle Yeoh Dustin Clare, Adrian Paul and Will Yun Lee running into our returning heroes, straight-laced English soldier Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) and his carousing American partner Damien Scott (Sullivan Stapleton). I've seen the first four episodes, and while there are a few narrative hiccups — some of them caused because production was disrupted and delayed by a...

Georgia Flood as Alice behind the scenes of Anzac Girls. .A Screentime production for ABC TV.
.
While writer-producer Felicity Packard was researching an ABC WW1 drama, she made a shocking discovery: More than 3,700 Australian and New Zealand nurses served overseas during the war- but only seven were awarded military medals.
The reason for that anomaly is one of the recurring themes of Anzac Girls, a six-hour series based on real people and events at the Western Front and Gallipoli, which premieres at 8.30 pm on Sunday August 10.
Packard believes the Australian Army refused to honour the nurses because officers were opposed to young women being involved in the war.
.The Army was quite hostile to them,. Packard tells If. This attitude is personified in the show by Colonel Thomas Fiaschi (John Waters), who, she says, .was obstructionist and critical of the nurses.. Those medals were awarded to people of .other ranks,...
