Carlos M. Mora
- Writer
- Director
- Producer
Carlos was born and raised in Los Angeles County and now lives in San Francisco. After graduating from University with degrees in Civil Engineering (BS and MS), he worked as an Engineer. But his imagination and creativity brought him back to his first passion - telling stories. He embarked on the path of pursuing the art and craft of screenwriting. He attended the UCLA Professional Programs in Screenwriting along with several screenwriting courses and has been writing scripts ever since.
He has completed several screenplay assignments, and written numerous spec feature scripts, spec television scripts, and many short scripts. He sold his first spec feature script, "Grave Desperation" to an indie production company.
Wanting to take an active role in bringing his stories to life, Carlos has pursued a parallel path -- that of Director. He was the Writer/Director of 9 short films. He was fortunate to collaborate with a San Francisco producer looking for a screenwriter to bring his American/Bollywood story to life. Carlos was tapped to write the script. The Producer also viewed many of Carlos' short movies and offered him the Director position on the film. This collaboration became Carlos' first feature movie - "Love Pyar Whatever". Previously this feature found homes on Amazon Prime and Tubi.
Wanting to further his directing skills, Carlos was accepted and attended the 2022 Terre di Cinema fellowship in Sicily, Italy. The program trains cinematographers and directors on the art of shooting on 35mm film. There are vast differences in shooting on film as opposed to shooting on Digital, so Carlos gained valuable experience in shooting on everlasting celluloid. From this program, Carlos came away with a 35mm short movie, "Irreversible Imprints" that has been accepted to 11 festivals.
Carlos is scheduled to attend the 2024 Terre di Cinema this fall to further enhance his celluloid director skills.
Carlos has recently completed his latest Short Movie, "Unbreakable Connections". The short has just started its festival run.
