- "The Ballad of Serenity" was used by NASA as the wake-up song for McArthur's husband, astronaut Bob Behnken (Robert L. Behnken), and the other crew-members of STS-130 (a Space Shuttle mission to the International Space Station) on February 12, 2010. This was the theme song for the TV show Firefly (2002), written by Joss Whedon and performed by Sonny Rhodes.
