Another new series from Norman Lear is coming to Netflix, but this time around the King of Sitcoms is tackling drama. The streaming service has greenlit “The Corps,” the working title of a new comedy-drama starring Vera Farmiga, Miles Heizer, Max Parker and Liam Oh.
Set in the 1990s, the drama will follow Cameron (Heizer), a high school student who is bullied for being gay. He decides to join the Marine Corps along with his straight best friend Ray (Oh) during a time when being gay in the military could mean jail time. The 10-episode series is inspired by the memoir “The Pink Marine” by Greg Cope White.
Prior to “The Corps,” Heizer is best known for starring in “13 Reasons Why” as Alex Standell. He’s also starred in “Nerves” as well as “Rails and Ties.” He will be joined by “The Departed” and “The Many Saints of Newark” star Farmiga,...

Viewers may have been confused by the law that caused Alice’s arrest. Here’s what you need to know.

Oh “1923,” you thrilling, thoughtful, brutal show. What a finale you delivered. And for us viewers whose heads are spinning from Timothy Dalton’s Bdsm-obsessed bad guy and that heartbreaking separation for Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) and Alex (Julia Schlaepfer) there’s so much to process that we need that “1923” ending explained.
The thing that’s so interesting about the Season 1 finale, “Nothing Left to Lose,” written, as with every episode of the “Yellowstone” franchise, by Taylor Sheridan, is that it actually resolves quite a lot even as it sets up that much more for the future. Could it have served as a series finale if “1923” hadn’t already been renewed for Season 2? Possibly. There don’t appear to be plans for a continuation of “1883,” and the production values of “1923” are very much of the no-expense-spared variety.
But the show was a hit, captivating viewers with one of the best romances...

The CW is losing another show. “Stargirl,” the channel’s teen superhero drama, will conclude with its ongoing third season, IndieWire has confirmed.
The show, which airs on Wednesdays, premiered its third season in August. The final episode will now premiere on December 7.
The news comes shortly after The CW was acquired by station group Nexstar, in a deal that has been accompanied by several cancellations and endings for many of the network’s series. In May, ahead of the official deal, the channel canceled over half of its scripted programming lineup. Nexstar officially took control in October, with plans to retool the famously unprofitable channel to focus on acquired programming and cheaper original series. The change was accompanied by CEO Mark Pedowitz stepping down from his post after more than a decade at the channel.

“Stargirl” will come to an end at The CW with Season 3, Variety has confirmed.
The DC series is currently airing its third season, with the finale set to air on Dec. 7. This is the latest CW scripted series to announce it will come to an end following Nexstar’s completion of its acquisition of The CW in October. It was most recently announced that “Nancy Drew” would end with its fourth season, with both “The Flash” and “Riverdale” also coming to an end. The CW also canceled many of its scripted originals back in May.
“Stargirl has always held a special place in my heart for many reasons,” said series creator and executive producer Geoff Johns. “With all the brewing changes at the network, we were aware this was possibly the last season, so we wrote with that in mind and have delivered what I believe to be the best season of Stargirl yet,...

“Make-up is for everybody,” said social media star Emmy Combs at Uoma Beauty’s Pride Month and Juneteenth Celebration on Friday. Born with Alopecia, the professional make-up artist and licensed cosmetologist took a moment on the red carpet to chat with WrapWomen about the importance of inclusive beauty – and even showed off her impeccably sculpted eyebrows. “I put on these eyebrows every single day and they’re completely fake… with make-up you can do anything you want. You can be creative and feel beautiful. That’s why I wear it.”
Combs is one of the many stars who attended the celebration, which also served as the launch for Uoma by Sharon C for Walmart. The new line is considered the vegan, cruelty free, inclusive sister of the Uoma Beauty brand, offering quality products for all skin tones at affordable pricing.
