"For a clown named Giggles, you're not very funny..." Send in the, um, killers of clowns? An official trailer for a horror-thriller titled Kill Giggles has debuted online and it's, uh, quite a peculiar watch. The indie film claims to flip the "killer clowns" trope on its head and ask us: "But what if there was a serial killer Of clowns, terrorizing them with fear instead?" Not exactly reinventing the wheel, but it definitely is riding on the coattails of Joker. The director describes this as "a harrowing Hitchcockian horror story that will take a timeless terror trope and turn it on its rainbow wig-covered head." The film stars Michael Ray Williams as Tommy, with a cast including Ellie Church, Patrick G. Keenan, Nereida Velazquez, Felissa Rose, Vernon Wells, and Judith O'Dea. It's a super low budget production and looks it, in every way. Beware. Here's the first official trailer...

I know what you’re thinking. Bloody Ballet. In the same year as the Suspiria remake. Some serious homage going on, right? Well no, not that much actually. Whilst definitely nodding to the Argento classic, this is certainly not trying to be it. Playing out more like Black Swan meets early eighties video nasty, Bloody Ballet, or Fantasma as it is also known, is well worth your time.
Focusing on talented but troubled Adriana (Kendra Carelli), we see her fight her inner demons to accept her worth as the lead in her colleges upcoming performance of The Nutcracker. As if her increasing mental struggles weren’t enough to contend with, there is also the little...

Ahhhh, the early days of DVD. When anything and everything was released to capitalise on the burgeoning desire for people to buy discs but not pay the extortionate prices the big studios were charging. The “Music Zone years” as I like to call them, when you could walk into any of the companies many high street shops and buy DVDs for a fiver (about a third of the regular price of studio fare). From companies like Marquee Pictures, Prism Leisure, Ilc Prime…
Why am I reminiscing about this? Well because it was also at this time that I was also busy buying up unwanted VHS tapes from people upgrading to the new-fangled disc format, snapping up horror films like there...

James Ryan Gary's Devil's Crossing is a post-apocalyptic zombie western that's been looking to score itself distro for a while now. Can this latest piece of sales art do the trick? Seems like kind of a no-brainer to us.
Michael Sharpe, Patrick G. Keenan, Kevin L. Johnson, and Jenny Gulley star.
Synopsis
Nuclear war has ravaged the world. The remnants of humanity fight to survive, taking refuge in bleak settlements. The undead wander the earth, slaves to their bloodlust, or perhaps some higher power? The tattered town of Celestial sets the stage for the greatest battle of the New Dark Age! A score that must be settled and a reckoning that has been 235 years in the making. Shadrach is a man who watched his life burnt to the ground! Left for dead, having sold his soul to the devil with his last dying breath. A slave to the devil.

Devil’s Crossing
Stars: Michael Sharpe, Patrick G. Keenan, Kevin L. Johnson, Jenny Gulley | Written and Directed by James Ryan Gary
I found Devil’s Crossing to be a strange film, with a feel of a typical cowboy themed film but set in a modern day feel it surprised me when I read the synopsis and found that it’s set after a nuclear war. This war must have been some time in the close future because there are not many things that look futuristic. If anything they feel like they’ve gone back into the past, which of course may be the whole point, though it was slightly lost on me to a point.
The story is that a drifter moves from town to town killing people on a list. He works for a demon and when he decides one day to just stop, the demon turns up in...

*a screener of this film was provided by Left Films.
Director/writer: James Ryan Gary.
Cast: Michael Sharpe, Patrick G. Keenan, Jenny Gulley and Kevin L. Johnson.
Devil's Crossing is the first film from the very young director James Ryan Gary. Seriously, this guy looks twenty in his interviews. The film is a blend of the western and horror genres as zombies promise to take over the world. Devil's Crossing is similar to other films like the recent Cowboys and Zombies, Olivier Beguin's short film "Dead Bones" and Spencer Estabrooks' "Dead Walkers." All of these are great films including Gary's latest entry. This title will release in the United Kingdom January 30th and it is already available in North America; this reviewer would recommend the film to indie horror fans across the board.
The film begins with the character Shadrach played by Michael Sharpe. He is digging his...
