Liverpool-based 1960s music and sketch comedy group.

"The Scaffold" consisted of Roger McGough, John Gorman and Mike McGear aka Mike McCartney, the younger brother of Paul McCartney. Some of their more familiar songs include: "Thank U Very Much" (1967), "Lily the Pink" (1968), "Liverpool Lou" (1974), etc.

In 1968 the band had a number one hit in the UK with "Lily the Pink." The recording (on The Beatles' Parlophone label) was produced by Norrie Paramor and featured Elton John, Graham Nash and Tim Rice on backing vocals with Jack Bruce on bass guitar.
