Fabien Martorell is a multi award-winning director from France, who
relocated to Los Angeles. He directed Collision, a NETFLIX film, shot in Johannesburg.
Martorell is in post-production of his second feature documentary, The Guns Story, with legendary guitarist Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns, Guns N' Roses), Iggy Pop, Lemmy Kilmister. His latest short film, Unbelief, starring Andrew Howard (Limitless, Taken 3), Tobin Bell (Saw 1-6-3D), based on the short story by Michael Marshall Smith, already won multiple awards and nominations, and is an official selection of many international film festivals. His short film, The Coin, starring Christopher Lloyd (Back To The Future), Kathryn Morris (Minority Report, Cold Case), based on the short story Soul Murder by David Mamet, won multiple awards and nominations, and was an official selection of many major international film festivals including 4 Academy-qualifying festivals (Palm Springs Int'l ShortFest, LA Short Fest, Newport Beach Film Festival, Cleveland Int'l Film Festival).
His feature-length documentary Tromatized: Meet Lloyd Kaufman, about
legendary and eccentric Lloyd Kaufman, president of Troma Ent. and
creator of the Toxic Avenger, wowed the judges at the 2009 New York
International Independent Film Festival and was awarded "Best
Biographical Documentary". The film starred such luminaries as Stan
Lee, Roger Corman, John Badham, Eli Roth, Trey Parker, Mark Damon,
Steven Paul, James Gunn and Tiffany Shepis. It was the selection at
several other US film festivals including the Hollywood Film Festival
and NewFilmmakers Los Angeles, and it was acclaimed by the specialized
press/critics. The film is distributed worldwide on internet (Amazon, i-Tunes,
Vudu, etc.) by Under The Milky Way.
He has directed, written and produced numerous short films including
The Track, La Luna and Memories of a Dagger that have been selected and
screened at prestigious international film festivals including Cannes,
Clermont-Ferrand, London, Barcelona and Tokyo.
Fabien set up his own production company, FM Pictures LLC in Los
Angeles end of 2011.
