Johannes Alfvén was raised in a family with both cultural and academic
interests. His grand-uncle was the internationally recognized composer
Hugo Alfvén, and his grandfather Hannes Alfvén won the noble prize in
physics in 1970. Johannes early chose music as his expression, and was
accepted to the Adolf Fredrik's School of Music at the age of ten. At
the age of twelve he appeared in Georg Riedel's musical "Barfotaliv"
which became his first encounter with the stage. At 21 he was one of 7 out of 800 applicants who were accepted to The National Theatre Academy in Gothenburg where he studied
acting for four years. Since graduation in 2005 he has been combining stage acting with parts in film and TV.
