Anthony Hopkins’ latest indie film “Eyes in the Trees” has found itself at the center of a FBI complaint.
Producer Daemon Hillin first told Deadline that he is being extorted over 18 minutes of unedited footage from the feature that was allegedly obtained through hacking. The footage includes all of Hopkins’ scenes that were filmed in Los Angeles in 2023; the movie received a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement waiver to remain in production. Hillin said a “Korean Zombie address” has sent him “disturbing and very detailed emails.”
The emails, obtained by IndieWire, demand $200,000 in cryptocurrency. Hillin says he’s not paying.
One email reads, in part: “We will also send clips of your project to potential major buyers in the market . we will email bomb them through filters with your content i.e. Netflix, Amazon, peacock, sony, AMC, Lionsgate, Blumhouse. We have emails to all the strategic people in charge of content acquisitions in those companies.

Two-time Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins has signed on to star in Eyes in the Trees, a reimagining of H.G. Wells’ The Island of Dr. Moreau, which is co-written by “The Bay” and “Days of Our Lives” actor Mike Manning.
According to Deadline, Hopkins will portray a geneticist who has been isolated after the government stopped funding his research following the violent outbreak of one of his test subjects. Later, two renowned filmmakers and their crew embark on a journey of discovery, only to find their excursion turned into a fight for survival for themselves and the entire human race.
First published in 1896 by Wells, several adaptations of “The Island of Dr. Moreau” have since followed, including 1932’s “Island of Los Souls” and the a 1977 film “The Island of Dr. Moreau,” which starred actor Burt Lancaster. The classic H.G. Wells story The Island of Dr. Moreau has been adapted multiple times in various different ways over the years – I’d personally like to recommend Island of Lost Souls, the classic 1932 adaptation starring Charles Laughton and Bela Lugosi – and Deadline reports that Anthony Hopkins has just come on board to star in the latest adaptation.
Hopkins will star in Eyes in the Trees for director Timothy Woodward Jr., being described as a “reimagining of the classic H.G. Wells novel The Island of Dr. Moreau.”

The 1996 version of The Island of Dr. Moreau, which was directed by John Frankenheimer (who replaced Richard Stanley after half a week of filming), is a well-known disaster, but that was just one of many cinematic adaptations H.G. Wells’ 1896 novel has received over the years. That novel has inspired the 1932 classic Island of Lost Souls, 1959’s Terror Is a Man, 1972’s The Twilight People, a 1977 film that actually kept the The Island of Dr. Moreau title, the Full Moon production Dr. Moreau’s House of Pain, and more. Now we can add another title to the list, as Deadline reports that Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins has signed on to star in the The Island of Dr. Moreau reimagining Eyes in the Trees.

Nothing could prepare you for the giant mess that Timothy Woodward Jr.’s Ready Or Not knock-off turns out to be. I mean, for a film to not be a satire and still come off as though it were parodying itself is the kind of well-rounded defeat that not even the overeager action sequences could have prevented. Treading the line between two timelines that seemingly come together to throw an off-registry deadly wedding gift the Bride’s way, Til Death Do Us Part doesn’t skimp on the bloodshed. Here’s how our gorgeous Bride-in-red aims for a life away from the one that’s been holding her hostage.

For Ukranian-American actress Natalie Burn, growing up as a ballerina and going to ultra-competitive schools in Moscow and London was surprisingly effective training for surviving Hollywood.

Til Death Do Us Part is a lackluster horror/action thriller with wonky dialogue, an overlong runtime, and a tedious script. The film has potential with gore and enjoyable kills, but the storytelling falls short, making it a chore to watch. Natalie Burn's performance as the runaway bride is the saving grace of the film, but overall, it lacks proper execution and a cohesive script.

As Til Death Do Us Part opens The Best Man sits in a pew working on his speech as upbeat music plays in the background. That’s followed by similar glimpses of other wedding party members prepping for the ceremony. A flashback to The Bride and Groom, nobody in this film has a name, on vacation serves to reinforce the happy image.
But Til Death Do Us Part isn’t a Hallmark Channel rom-com or Lifetime Channel thriller. Because when The Bride gets cold feet and bails on the wedding, we find out everyone involved in the ceremony is a highly skilled assassin. Now the stood-up Groom wants more than just his ring back, and their employer doesn’t take resignations well.

There's something of a fad, in the early years of the 2020s, for making films set in and styled like the 1980s, and few have captured that era quite as well as this energetic teen horror tale from Timothy Woodward Jr. From the elaborate make-up to the pulsing synthesizer score to the lofty moral tone of its most brutal scenes, it's a film which draws heavily on nostalgia and on the borrowed memories of a generation of viewers who were not born the first time around.
The protagonists, of course, are themselves teenagers. Quiet, withdrawn Chris (Chester Rushing) is the new boy in town, weighed down by a secret from his past. Tonya (Erin Sanders) is queen bee at his new high school, oozing confidence and glamour yet haunted by the disappearance, so years previously, of her younger sister. Together with her ex-boyfriend Zack (Mike Manning) and his younger brother Brett.

American character actor Tobin Bell is, of course, a true horror star after appearing throughout the entire Saw franchise as the antagonist John Kramer, aka Jigsaw. More recently, Bell has worked on other movies of this genre, including the Mexican production Belzebuth, directed by Emilio Portes, and The Call, which just hit theaters and drive-ins in the US last Friday, October 2. Directed by Timothy Woodward Jr., The Call follows a group of teenagers who hold a grudge against an old lady, Edith Cranston (Lin Shaye), who’s apparently a witch and the unpunished responsible party for the disappearance years ago of a local girl, the sister of one of the teen protagonists. The new kid on the block, Chris (Chester Rushing), soon joins the “tradition”...

Pretty much my whole reason for giving The Final Wish a watch was because Lin Shaye stars in it. She is a seal of approval for me and I know that even if the movie disappoints, then I will at least see a good performance from the veteran actress. That said, this also features Tony Todd, another reliable horror icon and had some decent-looking poster artwork, so it had at least a few things going for it.

It’s hard to tell good from evil in “Beyond the Law,” but in the brutal first trailer — released ahead of its upcoming day and date release — Johnny Messner and Dmx are determined to figure it out. Despite, of course, the violence meted out by a host of thugs — and Steven Seagal’s trademark wrist-snap. Watch the new trailer, and a lot of brutal beatdowns, exclusively above.

Country music star Trace Adkins continues to carve a niche for himself, along with several notches on his six-shooter, as an imposing presence in indie Westerns with his persuasive portrayal of a tarnished lawman in “The Outsider,” an unusually dark and brooding shoot ’em up capably directed by genre specialist Timothy Woodward Jr..
The movie itself, a deliberately paced, pared-to-essentials oater that clocks in at a lean and mean 86 minutes, might ruffle the feathers of traditionalists — i.e., the very people usually clamoring loudest for Westerns these days — who are easily upset by salty language, coarse behavior and other R-worthy elements in this unrated, family-unfriendly feature. The Final Wish is a Gothic tale from director Timothy Woodward Jr. (Gnome Alone). Written by Jeffrey Reddick and William Halfon, the film recently had its World Premiere at La's Screamfest Film Festival, in October. This title was also just picked up by Cinedigm Entertainment Group for a release on Digital platforms, in the United States. The Final Wish involves a struggling lawyer who returns to his home. Determined to face his demons, Aaron (Michael Welch) discovers an ancient urn and learns of its dark promises. A trailer is now available for this indie horror title. The Final Wish has been reviewed by a few critics. Grief is front and center in Timothy Woodward Jr.’s The Final Wish, a cautionary tale about the dangers of wish fulfillment centered around a struggling lawyer named Aaron (Michael Welch) who just wants to do right by everyone. And because this is a horror movie we’re talking about here, wanting good things for those you love often can come with a hefty price tag attached. Aaron quickly realizes that you often need bad to balance out the good in life, and his good deeds result in some devastating outcomes, proving that even good intentions can go horribly awry.

Trying to find a new reason to tell stories already immortalized by Howard Hawks, Brian De Palma and others, Timothy Woodward Jr.'s Gangster Land shifts the focus from larger-than-life Al Capone to his henchman Jack McGurn, a boxer-turned-enforcer who helped plan the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. Cinedigm has released an official trailer for a new crime thriller titled Gangster Land, from director Timothy Woodward Jr., of the western film Hickok also being released this year. Not quite Gangster Squad, not quite The Godfather, this indie mob film follows Al Capone's second in command, "Machine Gun" Jack McGurn, as played by Sean Faris. It tells the story of Capone's rise, but through the the eyes of McGurn. Milo Gibson (one of Mel's sons) plays Capone, and the full cast includes Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Peter Facinelli, Michael Paré, Jason Patric, Don Harvey, Mark Rolston, and Al Sapienza.
