Jori Grönroos is a film director and screenwriter working out of Helsinki, Finland. With a strong sense of engaging aesthetics, precise rhythm and natural ability in directing actors, his predominant strong suit is constructing finely nuanced gripping drama, exploring and studying the complexities of human behaviour.
Being passionate about all aspects of filmmaking, Grönroos has gathered considerable experience in other areas as well, having also worked regularly as a cinematographer and editor, as well as occasionally working as an actor. All which has further contributed to perfecting his craft as a director.
Grönroos' latest works include a short film called 'Fourteen Days', which was screened at numerous festivals in Europe and North America, including at the Oscar qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival in Los Angeles, CA, and has received multiple awards on both sides of the Atlantic. Most recently he co-wrote and directed a short film/music video for a song called 'Mahonki' by Hostikka, which has now begun snatching awards on festivals. As his latest TV work, Grönroos directed a crime series called 'Vaiettu murha' which aired on prime time national television in Finland in 2024.
