Jermaine Fowler, Dermot Mulroney, Rj Cyler, Freddie Gibbs, Yg, Flying Lotus, Jon Oswald, and Nicki Micheaux will also star in the upcoming Night Patrol.

The Tracy Morgan-led spinoff of The Neighborhood at Paramount+ continues to add to its cast.

Adrian Martinez, Braxton Paul and Finn Maloney have joined Crutch, which stars Morgan as Francois Crutchfield, aka Crutch, a Harlem shop owner — and cousin of The Neighborhood’s Calvin Butler (Cedric the Entertainer) whose life is upended when his adult children move back in with him. The show’s cast also includes Jermaine Fowler and Adrianna Mitchell as Crutch’s kids and Kecia Lewis as his sister-in-law.

Martinez (Unfrosted, ABC’s Stumptown) will recur as Flaco, Crutch’s childhood best friend, most loyal confidant and general manager of Crutch’s flooring shop. Fun-loving, optimistic and chatty, he is the yin to Crutch’s yang.

Jermaine Fowler has joined the upcoming The Neighborhood spinoff series which is set for Paramount+, Variety reveals.

The comedian and actor will be joining Tracy Morgan, who will play a new, reimagined character set in the same world as The Neighborhood.

A killer spider terrorises a New York apartment building in a tonally messy horror with some great creature effects. Our review of Sting:

Odd name for a killer spider movie, Sting. For that we can thank Tolkien-loving 12 year-old Charlotte (Alyla Browne) who chooses it as the nickname for the arachnid she finds scuttling around her dimly-lit New York apartment building. Sweeping the critter into a jar and intent on keeping it as a pet, Charlotte is blissfully unaware that Sting is capable of escaping from its glass prison and, as it dines on other living things roaming around the building, will soon grow to a frightening size.

Written and directed by Australian filmmaker Kiah Roache-Turner, Sting is an eclectic mash-up of styles and influences. Its snowbound apartment setting, every floor filled with eccentrics, immediately recalls Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro’s Delicatessen. Roache-Turner seems to relish in the little...

Sting starts with a bang. An old woman with short-term memory loss is attempting to contact an exterminator to deal with the loud, thumping sound in her flat. These opening minutes find tension in something terrifying and eight-legged lurking within the walls, then meeting an exasperated exterminator (played by a hilarious Jermaine Fowler). As the prologue reaches its predictable – and grisly – conclusion, some delightful opening credits suggest a gnarly B-movie creature feature experience is on its way.

Expectations, however, can be deceiving. Instead of putting the proverbial pedal to the metal, Sting then takes its foot off the gas, diving into the lives of those in the same apartment building where the noises take place. Among the assortment of strange characters who live there, we find Charlotte (Furiosa’s Alyla Browne), who discovers that same spider and keeps it as a secret pet.

The movie follows lifelong friends Lucy (Johnson) and Jane (Mizuno) navigating the changes in their paths after Jane plans a move to London, leading Lucy to reveal a secret about herself.

Lucy, who is socially awkward, discovers her attraction to women after failing to find a connection with the guys she dates. This leads to Jane helping her figure out her love life.

“The Witcher” Season 4 Gets First Look

The journey continues. Netflix has released the first-look images for its upcoming fourth season of “The Witcher,” with Liam Hemsworth now in the starring role.

Hemsworth takes over as Geralt of Rivia from Henry Cavill, who announced he would be stepping down after the show’s third season, which was released on the streamer in two parts last summer.

Per the official description, the fourth season will follow Geralt, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), and Ciri (Freya Allan) as they “are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire and finding one another again.”

Max announced Monday that the dramedy feature from co-directors Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne is set to launch on the streaming service June 6 after premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in 2022. Sonoya Mizuno, Jermaine Fowler, Kiersey Clemons, Molly Gordon, June Diane Raphael and Notaro round out the cast.

Am I Ok? centers on lifelong friends Lucy (Johnson) and Jane (Mizuno) navigating the changes in their paths after Jane plans a move to London, leading Lucy to reveal a secret about herself.

Dakota Johnson is asking herself what we all have at one time or another: “Am I Ok?”

Johnson stars in the simply titled feature that premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. Tig Notaro co-directs with her wife and fellow comedian Stephanie Allynne from a semi-autobiographical script written by Lauren Pomerantz.

Johnson stars as 30something Lucy who realizes she is a lesbian just as her best friend Jane (Sonoya Mizuno) announces she’s moving from Los Angeles to London for work. As Lucy’s life is upended, she’s suddenly floating through a queer dating pool without the life raft of Jane.

Jermaine Fowler, Kiersey Clemons, Molly Gordon, and Sean Hayes also star, along with co-director Notaro.

Screenwriter Pomerantz told Entertainment Weekly that “Am I Ok?” began as a “friendship movie” centered on her actual best friend Jessica Elbaum, who serves as a producer on the film. However, the feature became a coming-out dramedy instead.

Premiering way back some 27 months ago at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, we’ve been curious what happened to Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne’s directorial feature debut Am I Ok?. Led by Dakota Johnson, Sonoya Mizuno, Jermaine Fowler, Kiersey Clemons, Molly Gordon, Sean Hayes, and Notaro, Max has now unveiled it’ll arrive on June 6 and has debuted a new trailer.

A year ago, Legendary Entertainment’s remake of the infamous 1978 box office hit Faces of Death (get it Here) went into production in Louisiana, with Barbie Ferreira of the HBO series Euphoria, Dacre Montgomery of Netflix’s Stranger Things, Josie Totah of the recent Saved by the Bell revival, Jermaine Fowler of The Blackening, and singer Charli Xcx making up the cast. Sting is about a young girl named Charlotte (Alyla Browne from the unfortunate Children of the Corn remake) who spends her time drawing comics and creeping into her neighbors’ apartments by crawling through the apartment building’s air ducts. One day while doing the latter, she comes across a cute little spider which she takes home and names Sting – not after the rock star or the wrestler, but after the short sword in The Hobbit. Yes, Charlotte is a dork.

The big release of the weekend is “Civil War,” filmmaker Alex Garland‘s fourth feature film as a director, and one that is reportedly A24’s biggest budget production, reportedly costing $50 million. Set in a dystopian war-torn future America, the movie stars Oscar nominee Kirsten Dunst and Cailee Spaeny from “Priscilla” as two wartime journalists heading to D.C. to interview the President (Nick Offerman), who is about to be deposed by a group of opposing rebels. There are some movies that we should never remake. However, make no mistake, Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead is not one of them. We should celebrate when bad movies are remade. Yet, while most people look back at the Christina Applegate 1991 modern (imagine me using air quotes) classic, you shouldn’t. It’s unfunny and hardly worth your time.

It’s a perfect example of why the audience dictates classics. For some reason, like the ridiculous remake of Road House, people fondly look back at films they grew up with. The remake of Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead misses the mark like the original by not embracing the dark comedy possibilities and trading away any originality for a family comedy premise that doesn’t work.

And that’s too bad because Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead has a likable cast and has positive messaging.

Within its first few minutes, director Wade Allain-Marcus’ “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead” proves a worthy remake. Putting a modern comic spin on its ’90s counterpart’s opening sequence, it sets up our young heroine for a rude awakening and an indelible coming-of-age journey. By rearranging a few key details, losing some vestigial supporting characters and refocusing the story on a Black family learning to come together, the proceedings gain hilarity, buoyancy and resonance. Genuinely funny, charming and sincere, it’s a respectful and revelatory update in a world where those are few and far between.

Sting is the new film from Australian writer/director Kiah Roache-Turner, the man behind the Mad Max meets Dawn of the Dead films Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead and its sequel Wyrmwood: Apocalypse as well as the over-the-top ghost hunting film Nekrotronic. All three of them were fun films that made good use of a small budget, so a big bug movie seemed like a good fit for his skills.

But Bloody Disgusting wants You to see the movie a bit earlier than that. We’re presenting sneak preview screenings of Sting in select theaters on Wednesday, April 10th!

There are eight special sneak screenings across the US, each of them presented by Bloody Disgusting. All screenings start at 7 Pm local.
