Dominique Schilling grew up in Germany, Italy, and Switzerland, and
moved to Los Angeles in 1998. She started out studying English/Writing and received a bachelor's degree (summa cum laude) and a master's degree in Sociology from the University of Colorado Denver. Her directing training was at the
Beverly Hills Playhouse and she went to film school at the New York Film
Academy. Her films have screened in festivals all over the world. Dominique
Schilling's feature film
A Reason (2014) which she wrote and
directed, received awards at festivals in several
categories including her award for "Best Feature Writer". She is
co-owner of
'Risberg Schilling Productions',
a production company which she runs with producer
Caroline Risberg.
Her father is record producer
Dieter Dierks (Scorpions, Twisted Sister),
her siblings are
Michael Dierks and
Michaela Dierks.
