Back in those golden days, the show was a real dose of entertainment, and our beloved judges – Raghu Ram, Rajiv Lakshman, and Rannvijay Singha – entertained us over the years. Unfortunately, several years back, the deadly twin duo of Raghu and Rajiv stepped away as the judges, and it was possibly the biggest shock for the fans.
The duo of Raghu and Rajiv were known for their blunt opinion, unconventional thoughts, and abusive language. Due to these very reasons, the duo had to face a lot in real life, too, and there’s a particular section of the audience that hates them even today. Varun Badola was the heartthrob of Indian Television at a time when TV was peaking. He started his career with Banegi Apni Baat but turned into the quintessential hero, making our hearts swoon with Kis Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chaand. In fact, he was the perfect ‘daamad’ every mother wanted.

Titled Rabba Ishq Naa Hove, Varun Badola was paid 18,000 per episode, one of the highest-paid of those times. In fact, in 2004, when he participated in Nach Baliye, he was paid a whopping 16 lakh for the show. However, things took a drastic turn when Television started to change.

Actor Varun Badola, who plays a layered character in ‘Wrong Turn’, is happy that the teleplay will now be translated into Kannada and Telugu. Inspired by ‘Die Panne’ (The Breakdown), a 1956 novel by Swiss writer Friedrich Dürrenmatt, Ranjit Kapoor’s acclaimed teleplay ‘Wrong Turn’ produced by Zee Theatre is now being translated in Kannada and Telugu for audiences in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
He said: “Because of dubbing, subtitling, and translations, multilingual stories are reaching more people than ever before. I have done two Tamil Ad films, but as an actor, I am looking forward to being a part of this shift and would love to work in many more regional narratives.”

Sudip Sharma, the creator of the recently released crime-drama streaming series ‘Kohrra’, has shared that they shot for the series during the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in India, and it greatly helped them to bring in the authenticity.
Sudip said: “What really helps is shooting on location to bring in the authenticity. The Covid third wave scare that we faced actually worked in our favour because we went to Punjab and parked ourselves before the third wave started raging across. And in the process were living the land of Punjab and imbibing its culture.”
Tanya Bami, series head at Netflix, who’s a Punjabi herself, concurred saying the show appeals to the audience across the spectrum.
She said: “The viewing experience truly reflects what the team felt and delivered because they soaked in so much of the vibe of that place that it all shows on the screen...

Actress Sangita Ghosh says she is very attached to "Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand", which premiered in 2001, and that she is sure there can't be another Pammi or Dev -- characters played by her and Varun Badola in the popular show. It's raining reboots and remakes on the small screen. Asked if she would like "Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand" to get a remake, Sangita told Ians: "I have a special bonding with that show. I am sure there can't be another Pammi or Dev... the way Varun and I played the characters.
"If it is ever remade, maybe the names will be the same but the characters will be different. So, I don't know. I am very attached to it so, I wouldn't like to imagine it with someone else," she added.
Sangita is currently seen in the show "Divya Drishti" as a 'Pishachini'.

Filmmaker Saurabh Varma is all geared up for his upcoming movie 7 Hours To Go starring Shiv Pandit, Sandeepa Dhar, Natasa Stankovic and Varun Badola. The movie is slated to release on June 24. Saurabh Varma agrees to the fact that unlike his last movie Vicky Donor he doesn’t have a popular star backing the film like John Abraham or even a successful writer-director-producer Anand L Rai who took Nil Baatey Sannata to the silver screen but what he does have is a story which is different and inspired by real life events.
“You can’t underestimate the power of a star but Bollywood A-listers only work with a limited set of filmmakers. Directors like me have to prove ourselves to get access to the stars.” Said Saurabh. He also said that his actors aren’t supposed to be taken lightly, 7 Hours To Go is made by a group of underdogs and underestimated actors.

From Kahaani to Neerja, a number of female-centric films are fast catching the audience’s fancy. This has led filmmakers to make more movies with women as the protagonist. The upcoming film, 7 Hours To Go, produced by Krian Pictures, does not have one but two female leads, Sandeepa Dhar, who is known for her girl-next-door image, plays a tough, no-nonsense cop while Natasa Stankovic (of ‘DJ Wale Babu’ fame) plays the mysterious character of Maya in this action thriller. Not only are the girls looking gorgeous but they will also be seen performing some daredevil stunts!
The film, which also stars Shiv Pandit, has a lot of humour and thrill. Director Saurabh Verma on being asked what inspired him to cast two female actors as the protagonists said, “The casting was done according to the script and instead of looking at a male or female actor, I hope the audience will look at the movie in totality. The entertainment value is important for viewers.”
Directed by Saurabh Verma and produced by Nitika Thakur, 7 Hours To Go stars Shiv Pandit, Sandeepa Dhar, Natasa Stankovic and Varun Badola. The film is releasing on June 24th, 2016.
