On Monday, Deadline reported that Trevor Donovan has been added to When Hope Calls Season 2B. Trevor will portray Constable Jim Reynolds. The Clearwater-based Mountie is “known for his strong presence and skills in the field.” The Reagan actor will star in a two-episode arc.

He is described as “A strapping man, proficient in horse riding and physical pursuits.” In Episode 4, Reynolds will bring a child to the orphanage. In the second episode, “Reynolds captures cattle rustlers preying on Brookfield ranches.”

The “When Calls the Heart” family is growing. Trevor Donovan has joined the spinoff, “When Hope Calls,” at Great American Family.

Donovan will star as Constable Jim Reynolds, an experienced Mountie based in Clearwater. Per Great American Media, Reynolds is “a strapping man, proficient in horse riding and physical pursuits” and “is known for his strong presence and skills in the field.”

He will first appear in the third episode of Season 2, when Michael and Nora arrive to pick up a child under he’s caring for. He will then return for a second episode later in Season 2. Back in June 2023, Great American Media merged with Sony’s Pure Flix to stream original shows and movies. Having previously released two series, the latest news relates to the drama series Destination Heaven.

The drama miniseries Destination Heaven stars Harry Lennix as God. Meanwhile, the six-episode series, which premieres May 24, follows God as he encounters people in many circumstances who all believe they are doing the right thing.

However, they discover that their approach to being good is just going through the motions, rather than growing emotionally or intellectually from the circumstance.

The two are past contenders for Mirrorball glory on Dancing With the Stars. She competed in Season 18 and came in sixth place; more recently, he competed in Season 31 and also came in sixth place. “I’m honored and flattered that they asked me to host because this isn’t in my wheelhouse,” Donovan tells TV Insider. “I’ve never hosted anything. I’m a little nervous, but we rehearsed and I’m excited to see how it goes.” McKellar brings some hosting experience to the 31st MovieGuide Awards. “I’ve hosted the National Inventors Hall of Fame Awards in Washington D.C.,” she says. “It’s a huge event, but it’s not televised. I do love entertaining audiences.

Great American Family’s biggest time of the year is here. The network, run by former Hallmark CEO Bill Abbott, is leaning in to the holiday season big time, after seeing a year of massive growth.

According to the year-over-year data, Gaf is up 150% in total viewers in 2023 compared to 2022, and the success can be credited to multiple factors, Abbott tells Variety.

“One of the biggest parts of our growth has been our talent, and the fact that we have such recognizable stars in our stable of talent — and that they are relentless in promoting Great American Family,” he says. “That, in and of itself, has created the awareness necessary to grow like we have.”

Candace Cameron Bure, Trevor Donovan, Jen Lilley, Danica McKellar and Jessica Lowndes all have exclusive deals with Gaf, while their Christmas movie lineup also includes Matthew Morrison, Chad Michael Murray, Lori Loughlin, Jill Wagner and James Tupper.
