Born in Paris to a musical family (his father was conductor of the
National Orchestra of Paris), by age 2 he was on the drums. A young
Robin studied drumming in Montreal with Guy Nadon before years of
tutoring in Los Angeles by the legendary Joe Porcaro put him on the
road to a successful career. David Bowie, Mariah Carey, Boz Scaggs,
Tracy Chapman, Toni Braxton, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Steve Vai, and dozens
of other major names have benefited from his worldly sense of rhythm. A
mainstay of the Los Angeles session scene, he collaborates with such
top players as Vai, Toto's Steve Porcaro and David Paich, and violinist
L. Shankar. His debut solo disc, Blue Planet, reveals a creative side
of Robin that's new to the world, while confirming this young
multi-talent as one of today's hippest players.
