Carlos Loret de Mola Álvarez is a Mexican journalist. He has a Bachelor
Degree in Economics for the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México
(ITAM). He is a popular news anchor in Mexico, hosting a show called
Primero Noticias (1:N) on Televisa channel 2, which reaches an audience
of 35 million people daily in Mexico, USA and Latin America; and in the
afternoon at Radio Formula's newscast 'Contraportada'. Everyweek he
publishes the column "Stories of a reporter" for the national newspaper
El Universal. Has been war correspondent in Afghanistan, Haiti, Siria
and Libya. He has participated in international coverage, as the 2004
Indian Ocean Tsunami, Libyan civil war, the Egyptian Revolution of
2011, the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, the food crisis in the Horn of
Africa in 2011, the Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya, the Tunisian
Revolution and the death of Hugo Chavez. He became the first journalist
in the world to interview both Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, president of Iran,
and Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel prime minister, in the context of
nuclear threats. His journalistic work in Mexico has been quoted by
international media like: The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN
y Al Jazeera. Was included in 2008 World Economic Forum list of Young
Global Leaders.
