Helene Galek
- Actress
- Producer
- Casting Director
Helene Galek, actor/casting director/writer/producer, made her two biggest life decisions at age 5- to become a performer and live in New York City. She began dancing at that age, singing came later and then began her career in musical theater. One of her most cherished memories was doing an original musical by Maya Angelou (And Still I Rise) and being directed by the incredible woman, herself. Helene then moved on to sketch comedy and improvisation, collecting many different characters and performing in the smaller clubs and theaters. Then film and streaming series came around and Helene added those to her roster. She won Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy series (That Reminds Me) at the Rome Web Festival for her portrayal of wacky Aunt Carol, opposite veteran actor, Greg Mullavey. Her writing has also taken center stage and her one act play garnered enthusiastic reviews at the Chain Theatre"s One Act Festival and several of her pieces have been published, including poetry and monologues. As a casting director, she has cast theater and live shows as well as film and has coached actors in workshops. Helene is happy to be a multi-hyphenate and loves the smell of possibility each day, along with a great cup of coffee!
