Fresh off receiving the "Performance of the Year" Scenie Award along with 8 actors including Bryan Cranston, Sonal Shah stars in critically acclaimed 'Four Samosas' in theaters nationwide.

The accomplished actress was one of the first Indian-American women to appear in a major role on a network comedy (Scrubs). Other notable acting credits include Superstore (NBC), New Girl (FOX), Spaced Out (NBC), Better Things (FX), The High Note (Working Title), Definition Please (Netflix), Mira Royal Detective (Disney), The Powerpuff Girls (Cartoon Network), Costume Quest (Amazon), a series regular role in The PTA (ABC Family pilot), and stage productions including Goodman Theatre. She's also an NBC Diversity Showcase Alum, a Second City Conservatory Graduate, an IAMA Theatre Company Member, and has a development deal with Disney+.

A highly trained versatile professional, Sonal teaches acting at the esteemed John Rosenfeld Studios. She also teaches and directs "Showcase" at the Art of Acting Professional Conservatory. After earning her BAS in Theatre from Loyola University in Chicago, she continued her acting education with the Moscow Art Theatre School at Harvard University, UCB, The Groundlings, Improv Olympic, and JRS.
A comedian and advocate for humanity, Sonal co-hosted the Asian American Institute for Congressional Studies Gala in DC attended by President Obama as well as galas for Comcast, NBC Universal, South Asian Network, Aiden's Red Envelope Benefit, and the American India Foundation on Wall Street, where she helped raise 2.1 million dollars for education in India. She's been a guest speaker at Harvard University, the Alpha Gamma Sigma Scholastic Honor Society, The Chicago Foundation for Women, and the Indo-American Community Services Organization who praised her "Outstanding Dedication and Support for the Community." Sonal believes representation matters and powerful stories, love, and laughter can transform people's lives.
