- She studied her craft under the direction of Sande Shurin, author of "Transformational Acting...A step Beyond".
- Her real life son Bailey Almindo played her on-screen son in the film Nate Dogg (2003). This film won best debut feature film at the Raindance Film Festival in London 2003.
- Michalina's very first film audition was for filmmaker Thomas Farone. He cast her and the two have been working together ever since. She is currently one of the Producers and has a small role in his most recent film Aftermath (2013).
- She is one of the co-founders of a group called Independent Artists Collaborative in the NY Hudson Valley. It is a group of all artists working to master their craft while collaborating with each other to create new works. She started this group with fellow artist Jim Dippolito.
- The short film Four (2007) she directed and produced won four awards at the 2007 Edwood Film Festival.
- Her short film, Distractions, aired nationally on BET and BET-J as a part of "Lens on Talent: A Filmmakers Challenge".
- Michalina finally married Michael Scorzelli April 28 2012. They met at church camp at the age of 14.
- Michalina is the crew chief for a Nascar Late Model. Loves racing and helping her husband to go fast! Racing is a very big part of her life.
- The short film Michalina Directed Distractions won Best Short Film at the Trinity Film Coalition.
- Distractions Directed by Michalina won the FINE CUTZ Grand Jury Award at The Ruff Cutz Film Conference.
