Biography

Shaan Dasani is an award-winning actor, writer & producer, based in Los Angeles. Born and raised in North Carolina, Shaan moved to California to pursue an MFA in Film Production at Chapman University. He has since written & produced over 30 short films. His work focuses on addressing the more contemporary social issues of our time with a sense of universality to help create a unique, undeniable emotional connection with the audience.

His current penned project in which he also stars, "Agents of Change, Project: Polymer" - a spy genre film about secret agents who fight environmental crime - has won multiple awards on the film festival circuit and was selected to screen as a part of the impact driven New York Climate Week, and the United Nation's Climate Conference COP28.

As an actor, he has been featured in commercials for Google, Uber Eats, and Wells Fargo, and on TV for CBS's Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and Fox's 9-1-1. He is best known for his endearing and heartfelt performance as 'Asher' in the award winning queer comedy series "These Thems".

A big believer in the power of personal stories, Shaan has been invited to speak at entertainment industry panels, forums, and in college and high school settings, sharing his own experiences as a South Asian transgender man, allowing his unique and personal narrative to help humanize a community whose rights are often under attack.
