Ken Yao

Ken was born in Taichung, Taiwan, and grew up in a modest middle class
family. When he was nine, he and his family immigrated to suburbs of
LA. After graduating from Wm. S. Hart High School in Newhall, CA, Ken
attended and received his A.A. from the local junior college and
subsequently transferred to UC Santa Barbara. It was at Santa Barbara
where Ken developed his artistic talents. He graduated with a double
major of Art and Psychology and continued to stay in Santa Barbara to
work for Alias Wavefront. At Alias Wavefront, he became an expert
trainer of the Maya software platform and developed connections with
people in the animation industry. Through his connections and
dedication to computer animation, Ken landed a position as a character
effects specialist at Dreamworks and other movie studios. He is
employed at Dreamworks and continues to strive to produce realistic
character effects for the enjoyment of movie goers of all ages.
