Christian McLaughlin was most recently SVP Talent & Development for Comedy Central, based in ViacomCBS's New York offices where last summer he was tapped to head the NY development team. Christian joined Comedy Central in 2013 as Vice President, Specials and was tasked with spearheading series and specials with top talent such as Tracy Morgan, Key & Peele, Adam Devine, Ed Helms, Jeff Ross along with Daily Show correspondents Jordan Klepper and Desi Lydic. Working alongside Jonas Larsen, Christian was also responsible for overseeing Comedy Central's Roast specials featuring Bruce Willis and Alec Baldwin. Christian also shepherded three seasons of Roast Battle which became a successful international format which sold and was produced in over a dozen countries. Christian helped develop the non-traditional specials beginning with Jeff Ross Roasts Criminals which then led to a series of groundbreaking issue driven programs that tackled topics such as gun control, police brutality and gender inequality - all with a smart subversive comedic point of view. Christian also collaborated with Jonas in the development of the network's new comedy documentary series initiative which included one of the first films, Call Your Mother, being selected for a world premiere at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival.
McLaughlin came to COMEDY CENTRAL from Bravo, where he worked as Vice President, Production since 2010 overseeing a number of reality series including "Flipping Out" seasons 5 and 6, and "Chef Roble and Co." season 1, among others. Christian worked closely with Andy Cohen on the preparation and launch of his strip show "Watch What Happens Live" and was the Executive on the series in its first year.
Before Bravo, McLaughlin worked as an Executive Producer in Development and Production at VH1. McLaughlin produced multiple formatted clip show series in-house for the network before transitioning into development where he oversaw the development and production of a variety of pilots and series including "Love and Hip Hop", "Ego Trip's: The White Rapper Show," "Miss Rap Supreme," and "Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Camp" season 7.
Prior to joining VH1, McLaughlin served as Supervising Producer on Howard Stern's CBS syndicated Saturday night television show, "The Howard Stern Radio Show." He also did producing stints on "Live with Regis and Kelly" and "The Caroline Rhea Show." McLaughlin began his career in New York City in local news at NBC-4 as a writer, producer and director in on-air promotion where he was the recipient of 5 NY EMMY® awards, a Promax gold award and a Writers Guild of America award.
McLaughlin holds a BFA from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
