Throughout the month of December, we will be highlighting a film a day that has some tie into the holiday somehow. Some titles will be obvious, others won’t be. Some films will be good and, again, others won’t be. However, we think all titles are worth your time whether to give you chills inside your home or to make you drink more eggnog until you puke laughing.

Ten shopping days before Christmas, and people are being attacked by zombies, but we better not use the zed word because no one else does. Two cops roll up on some deadheads and one tries to gnaw on Jackson’s (Andy Hopper) foot. Thankfully his partner Frank Talbot (Jack Forcinito, not Lon Chaney) shoots his toe off and kills the zombie. Hustle back to Jackson’s second floor apartment and Frank’s wife, Sarah (Nadine Stenovitch) is there fighting off more zombies.

Silent Night, Zombie Night will be making its way to Blu-ray and DVD on October 4th, and we’ve been given a new trailer, cover art, and a list of bonus features.

Silent Night, Zombie Night Legendary scream queen Felissa Rose, who so memorably played Angela in both Sleepaway Camp & Return to Sleepaway Camp, tackles the zombie sub-genre of horror as a gun totting bad-ass who blows out some zombie brains in Sean Cain's (Someone's Knocking at the Door) Silent Night, Zombie Night. The film, which co-stars Vernon Wells (Mad Max 2), Lew Temple (The Devil's Rejects), Andy Hopper (Before Turning the Gun) & Jack Forcinito (Breath of Hate), premiered back around Christmas of 2009. Sin City is suddenly becoming a genre town. The Blacklist Film Festival brought their indie flavor to Las Vegas; Live Evil hit the Sci-Fi Center; and the Fangoria Trinity Of Terrors took over The Palms.

Now William Powell’s comic shop and grindhouse theater hosts the Las Vegas premiere of Sean Cain’s Silent Night, Zombie Night (which we last covered here). The event, celebrating independent cinema, Christmas and zombies all in one night, takes place December 5 at 8 p.m. and costs $5.

Cain, who Fangoria calls a “Indie Horror Specialist,” will be on hand for a Q&A and autograph signing session after the film, as will producer Wes Laurie, and co-stars Chris Gabriel (”One Long Day,” “Devotion,” “S4″), Chad Clinton Freeman ("Killer Biker Chicks"), Luke Y. As a child and teenager I became interested in horror films from the first time I saw Gunnar Hansen swing a chainsaw, at Dennis Hopper, in "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2." Unknown to me at the time there was and additional world full of the undead, pin-headed villains, and demon possessed girls who were each anxious to scar my perceptions of reality. Now, I will soon get the chance to replay the trauma of my youth in 2010 when Wes Laurie puts the final ink on his dark screenplay for "Breath of Hate."

Looks like the crew over at Velvet Hammer Films are close to a premiere for "Silent Night, Zombie Night," with the first teaser available for zombie horror film fans. Set during Christmas time the film, appropriately, will see a late 2009 release date. Involving a three-way love story and streets of blood this low budget film offers more than the typical zombie film. Don’t let the title Silent Night, Zombie Night fool you. While writer/director Sean Cain is clearly paying homage to the campy 80s slasher flick Silent Night, Deadly Night, there’s nothing campy about his latest film.

“Snzn is really the story of three people who emotionally fall apart and come together during a zombie pandemic,” explained Cain. “So while yes, the movie is about zombies, it’s really about these three people dealing with their own issues during a horrific ordeal.”

Taking place a week before Christmas, Snzn is about a viral outbreak that’s unleashed, turning La citizens into the feral undead. While facing the devastating effects of the outbreak, Lapd officer Frank Talbot (Jack Forcinito) is also faced with the decision of whether or not to leave both his wife Sarah (Nadine Stenovitch) and his partner Nash (Andy Hopper).
