Nick Lou Saban

Cousin of coach Lou Saban.

Upon winning the 2009 BCS and AP national championships with Alabama, Saban became the first head coach in college football history to win a national championship with 2 different colleges. Saban had previously coached the LSU Tigers to the 2003 BCS national championship.

As of 2019, Nick Saban has won 6 National Championhips. One with LSU in 2003 and Five with Alabama in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, and 2017. This ties Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant for the most College Football National Championships won by a head coach.

Was the second-highest paid coach in 2016 with a salary close to $7 million.

All these people that complain about staff sizes, I mean, we pay interns really, really little money, very small amount of money. You would be shocked at how cheap the labor really is. It's almost criminal. And why we have administrators complaining about how many cheap labor people you have, trying to promote the profession, trying to do something to develop our game and the coaches in the game, because how else do you develop guys?

[on the recent NFL players kneeling the national anthem to show unity and a form of peaceful protest]I don't think that what these people are doing is in any way, shape or form meant to disrespect a veteran or somebody like yourself who has worked so hard, fought so hard and sacrificed so much for all of us to have the quality of life that we want to have. But one of the things that you also fought for and made sacrifice for was that we could all have the freedom to have a choice in terms of what we believe, what we do and what we said

I have my opinions in terms of what I would do and how I would do it. I'm not one ever to disrespect the symbols that represent the values of our country. I also respect individual differences that other people have and they have the right to express those - whether it's our players or somebody else, whether I agree or disagree, I do think they have the right to do that
