Carmen Casanova

Carmen is an actress (ACTRA, UBCP, EQUITY) from Vancouver, B.C., Canada. She is a graduate from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has a B.F.A. from the University of Victoria and has acted in film, T.V., and theatre in Canada, the U.S.A., and Europe. Carmen has starred in Woman Waiting directed by Antoine Bourges which in 2011 won three awards and was nominated for the Golden Berlin Bear for Best Short Film and received a SXSW Grand Jury Award nomination for Best Narrative Short. Woman Waiting has premiered at several prestigious film festivals around the world such as the Toronto International Film Festival, the Berlin International Film Festival, and SXSW. She has also had four leading roles in the T.V. series Dark Waters of Crime which won an Honorable Mention at the Columbus International Film & Video Festival and received a Leo Award nomination for Best Documentary Series in 2011. Carmen has also played opposite Cary Elwes in The Outer Limits (award-winning T.V. series), performed at the South Coast Repertory (Tony Award-winning theatre) in Costa Mesa, California, U.S.A., and worked in the wardrobe department of the Royal Shakespeare Company at the Barbican Centre in London, England, U.K.
