State Symphony Orchestra of Cinematography under the Council of Ministers of the USSR, performing musical parts for films. In 1924, in the famous Moscow cinema 'Ars' on Arbat, for the first time, instead of the usual pianist-taper, performed an orchestra. This change in the musical accompaniment of films has gained popularity among viewers. Since then, under the leadership of conductor David Blok, the orchestra began to play in other cinemas.
At various times, Aleksandr Gauk, Yevgeni Svetlanov, Yuriy Nikolayevskiy, Mark Ermler, Konstantin Krimets, Georgiy Garanyan, David Shtilman, Gaziz Dugashev, Yuri Serebryakov, Emin Khachaturyan stood at the conductor's stand.
