Juli Goodwin is the Chief Communications Officer at the American Film Institute, a post she has held since 2018. She is responsible for overseeing all strategic communications, marketing initiatives and media relations for AFI. Since joining the Institute, Goodwin has developed and fortified AFI's brand image, position and messaging, while increasing AFI's digital communication platforms. In honor of the AFI Conservatory's 50th anniversary, Goodwin also spearheaded the strategic redesign and launch of AFI's new website, which continues to expand the global presence of AFI's innovative programs and diverse initiatives.
Goodwin previously held leadership positions at Warner Bros since 2000, first as Vice President of Domestic Publicity, then as Senior Vice President, before serving as Executive Vice President from 2011 to 2018. During her tenure, she executed comprehensive publicity campaigns on films such as Wonder Woman, Mad Max: Fury Road, American Sniper, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, Gravity, Inception, The Dark Knight trilogy, Mystic River and The Matrix. She also mounted successful Academy Award® campaigns, with Best Picture wins for Argo and Million Dollar Baby, along with many more nominations including, mostly recently, Best Picture nominee Dunkirk. Prior to Warner Bros, Goodwin served as Vice President of Publicity and Promotions at Fine Line Features. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University.
