Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s coming-of-age film ‘12th Fail’ has dropped the music video for its song ‘Bolo Na’. After a compelling trailer, the song is a beautiful and soulful romantic ballad that is laced with a lot of emotions, which it conveys very realistically.

Infusing simple acoustic instrumentation with booming film music, the highlight of the track is the contrastingly complimenting voices of singers Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal.

Mumbai, Aug 9 (Ians) Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra on Thursday shared a glimpse of his upcoming film ’12th Fail’ starring Vikrant Massey, where the actor is seen giving himself a restart in education and career.

’12th Fail’ is based on Anurag Pathak’s best-selling novel, about the incredible journey of Ips officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi. The film is also inspired by millions of true stories of students attempting the world’s toughest competitive exam: the Civil Services.

Filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane, who delivered the stellar ‘Jubilee’ earlier this year and is known for films like ‘Udaan’ and ‘Lootera’, is all set to helm two more projects, and both fall in the category of long-format content pieces.

The first project is a three-part docu-series titled ‘Indi(r)a’s Emergency’.

It will tell the story of one of the darkest chapters of India’s post-independence history – The Emergency which was imposed by the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi

Officially issued by President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed under Article 352 of the Constitution because of prevailing “internal disturbance”, the Emergency was in effect from June 25, 1975 and ended on March 21, 1977.

The docu-series will be narrated by Swanand Kirkire, and will feature a combination of archival footage and animation, bringing to life events that shook a nation.

Music composer Amit Trivedi has opened up about the recently released music album for the film ‘Qala’. Trivedi, who has composed music for movies such as ‘Aamir’, ‘Dev D’, ‘Wake Up Sid’ and ‘Aiyyaa’, among others, said he enjoyed doing music for ‘Qala’.

Singer and music director Amit Trivedi opens up on composing music for the first song ‘Gaya Gaya Gaya’ from R Balki’s directorial venture ‘Chup: Revenge Of The Artist’. He shares how he tried to compliment the storyline with his tunes.

Amit explains: “‘Chup’ is a versatile film and it comes from a one-of-a-kind storyline. We had to compose something that could fall in line with the film’s essence and we found ‘Gaya Gaya Gaya’. We necessarily focused on keeping the romantic element of the song alive without losing on the film’s enigmatic hint in it.”

The song is written by lyricist Swanand Kirkire and sung by Rupali Moghe and Shashwat Singh.
