- Paul's first exposure to film acting was at the age of 18 when he auditioned for and was cast in a hostage situation training video. He later auditioned for local theater companies and was cast in numerous complex and challenging roles which deepened his interest in and ultimately his love of acting. Subsequent film and television commercial roles, coupled with intensive studying with industry professionals, prepared him for a decision that would direct the course of his life. At the age of 22, having completed a double degree in Psychology and Philosophy, Paul auditioned for the University of Alberta's Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting program and was one of only a handful of applicants accepted to train at the theater school.
