Tubi is filling out the cast for its Lauren Graham-starring workplace comedy The Z-Suite with new guest stars.

Rhys Darby (Flight of the Conchords), Mark McKinney (Superstore), Dani Kind, Nadine Djoury, Richard Waugh and Peter Keleghan have nabbed guest-starring roles. They join earlier-announced series regulars Graham, Madison Shamoun, Nico Santos, Spencer Stevenson, Anna Bezahler and Evan Marsh in the comedy shooting in Toronto.

The Tubi original is set at a boutique New York ad agency where generational divides see the established C-Suite and rising Gen Z employees clash. Wynonna Earp is finally returning home to Purgatory, three years after going on the road to battle her most dangerous villain yet. Three years after ending its run on Syfy, the supernatural Western action-adventure series is returning with a sequel to most of the original cast and a new and exciting villain. Directed by Paolo Barzman, from a screenplay co-written by Emily Andras and Beau Smith, and while for all intents and purposes, it is a standalone film, there are some talks of rebooting the series.

Wynonna Earp: Vengeance follows the story of Wynonna as she is continues her work on the road with the help of Doc Holliday but she soon has to return to Purgatory after getting an ominous call to fight against a psychotic seductress who is out for revenge against Wynonna and everyone she loves.

After seven seasons and more than 80 episodes, “Workin’ Moms” has retired: The seventh and final season hit Netflix on April 26. Creator, writer, sometimes director and star Catherine Reitman knew she wanted to end the series while crafting Season 6 — bringing home the comedy of working mothers who are just trying to do their best — with a final scene she’d had in her head.

“The only justice I could think of for working mothers is, you just dust yourself off, you get back up and you go to work,” she tells Variety. “That’s it — you get your kids set up, and you go back to work. And there was no fantasy that could better eclipse the reality of being a working mother.”

SXSW has announced the first wave of movie and television programming for its 2023 film festival, including its narrative, documentary, and television competition lineups.

While several sections of the complete film lineup, including this year’s Global and 24 Beats Per Minute programming, have yet to be announced, the lineup already features new work from many of the industry’s most exciting names. The festival will open with the world premiere of “Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” John Francis Dailey and Jonathan Goldstein’s comedic adaptation of the beloved role-playing game. Other notable premieres include “Evil Dead Rise,” the latest entry in Sam Raimi’s camp horror franchise that hails from director Lee Cronin; Eva Longoria’s Frito-Lay origin story “Flamin’ Hot”; and the Season 2 premiere of “Blindspotting.”

“We are thrilled to announce the first wave of our incredible lineup for SXSW 2023,” SXSW VP of Film & TV Claudette Godfrey said in a statement.

SXSW has announced the first batch of titles in its 2023 film festival line-up, including opening night movie, Paramount’s big-budget adventure film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

“We are thrilled to announce the first wave of our incredible lineup for SXSW 2023,” said Claudette Godfrey, vp film & tv. “It’s an amazing collection of films, TV series and Xr experiences that promise to inspire, entertain and challenge our audiences. The other 2023 headliners are the Julio Torres A24 movie Problemista, the latest film in the Evil Dead franchise, Evil Dead Rise, and Eva Longoria’s directorial debut Flamin’ Hot. Last year’s headliners included box office break out The Lost City and awards contender Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Catherine Reitman wanted to share stories of women trying — and often failing — to have it all. Fast forward seven seasons, 83 episodes and dozens of awards nominations (including two International Emmy nods), and she’s ready to put that baby to bed.

“Workin’ Moms” was born following the creator, showrunner, star and sometimes director’s own first Mother’s Day, which she missed while shooting an indie movie. Along with her husband Philip Sternberg (who plays her on-screen husband Nathan on the series), they created the production banner Wolf + Rabbit and sold what was initially going to be a premium cable project to FX.

Reitman had spent a lot of time growing up in Canada with her family (her father was late Canadian filmmaker Ivan Reitman), so when FX passed, she looked north and sold the series to CBC.

“Honest to God, I was so hopeful that I would get to Season 2,” Reitman recalls to Variety.

As a make-up artist touches up Catherine Reitman’s hair between takes, it’s not immediately clear how many hats she wears on the Toronto soundstage for Workin’ Moms, her popular CBC and Netflix comedy.

Reitman is the creator, executive producer, writer and star, playing Kate Foster, on the half-hour series that began as four women in a Mommy and Me group wanting to have it all, yet juggling the real challenges of being a modern working mother, relationships, insatiable babies, horrific co-workers and postpartum depression.

We have some bad news for fans of the Netflix/CBC comedy series, Workin' Moms.

The hit series will wrap with its upcoming seventh season, according to Catherine Reitman, the star, creator, and director.

“And so, it is with love and gratitude that I’m announcing season seven as our final season. The biggest thank you to our partners, CBC and Netflix, for getting behind a show that points a flashlight into the darkest corners of motherhood," Reitman shared in a statement.

"To those of you who’ve stopped me on the street, to share your love of the show — I see you. I hear you. And I thank you. Go get ’em mamas."

Reitman also shared a video on Twitter, teasing fans about what's on the horizon for the last-ever season.

The series launched in Canada in 2017, with Netflix taking international rights two years later.

Catherine Reitman’s mommy-comedy sitcom Workin’ Moms is set to end with its upcoming seventh season.

The daughter of the late Hollywood director Ivan Reitman writes, directs and stars in the sitcom that launched on the CBC network in Canada in 2017, before Netflix picked up the Canadian import two years later. The final season will debut on CBC and CBC Gem in winter 2023, followed by a release on Netflix elsewhere globally.

Ally Pankiw will make her feature directing debut with “Brooke & Sam,” an upcoming comedic drama featuring “Shiva Baby” breakout Rachel Sennott.

The film, which quietly wrapped production, follows Sam, a young stand-up comedian and au pair struggling with Ptsd, who is weighing whether or not to join the search for Brooke, a missing girl she used to nanny. The story exists between the present, where Sam tries to recover from her trauma with the help of her friends in the comedy community, and the past, where memories of Brooke make it harder and harder to ignore the teen’s disappearance; and harder and harder to get back on stage.

Pankiw, who wrote the script along with directing the film, has established herself in the television and streaming world. Her directing and executive producing credits include the entire first season of Netflix’s series, “Feel Good,” which was created by and stars comedian Mae Martin.

Once beloved kids show in the ’60s, Hanna-Barbera’s ‘The Banana Splits’ has been brought back to life to invade your kid’s nightmares.

In the new trailer, the show that brings joy and happiness to youngsters everywhere turns into a horror-fest after the show is axed.

Dani Kind plays the mom while Sara Canning stars as the show’s producer, along with Romeo Carere and Steve Lund as Harley’s brother and father.

These aren't the Hanna-Barbera characters you remember. Mainly because they never killed anyone. That we know of.

While we sit and twiddle our thumbs waiting for a Five Nights At Freddy's movie, Syfy's Banana Splits Movie will seemingly go some way to keeping us sated for a bit.

Gore is not the first thing you tend to think of when reminiscing about the beloved live-action Hanna-Barbera series, but Fleegle the Beagle, Bingo the Gorilla, Drooper the Lion, and Snorky the Elephant are coming back in a rather more violent capacity to dish out some bloody vengeance in The Banana Splits Movie.

A revival of the classic Hanna-Barbera costumed characters will have The Banana Splits leaning in to their creepy side.

As a child, I was scared by everything from the Blue Meanies from The Beatles' Yellow Submarine movie to Waylon Flowers' wise-cracking Madame puppet.

Admittedly, I was a weird kid.

But in my defense, growing up in the 1970s and '80s meant that you were bombarded with supposedly lovable characters who were in fact nothing but weaponized nightmare fuel.. Chief among these marketable terrors were the characters featured Hanna-Barbera's variety show/hellscape The Banana Splits.

Airing for two seasons from 1968-70, then repeated in syndication for perpetuity, this series combined the live-action antics of the animal-costumed characters Fleegle, Drooper, Bingo, and Snorky as they had indescrible adventures filmed at amusement parks that were intercut with other segments.

The Banana Splits is a TV series that premiered in 1968. It’s way before my time, and I’m not really familiar with it. But I went to YouTube to watch a few videos for it, and it definitely looks like it could and should be a psycho horror movie! Here’s a little description of it:

A laugh track-laden collection of live-action buffoonery and animated segments for undiscerning young minds. Whether in their crazy clubhouse or out cavorting among the public, costumed animal hosts Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper and Snorky would engage in all manner of harmless nonsense, and even strap on musical instruments to perform hippie-dippie rock numbers.
