Thai horror The Victim: DVD review
Director: Monthon Arayangkoon. Review: Adam Wing. It’s been a long time coming, but Monthon Arayangkoon’s supernatural crime drama has picked up a solid fan base since its original release back in 2006. Arriving on UK shores this month courtesy of Mvm Entertainment, The Victim tells the tale of Ting, a young actress who takes a job re-enacting crime scenes with the local police force. It might read like a hokey premise on paper, but this kind of thing actually happens in Thailand, where crime scenes are re-enacted and pictures are published in national newspapers, bringing closed cases to the attention of the public. It’s not long before things take a turn for the supernatural, with Ting largely unaware of events taking place around her. Sundance Channel Goes Extreme from August 7 to October 30
Time to call your cable or satellite provider and add the Sundance Channel to your lineup as the network is launching a new season of its late-night destination Asia Extreme™ on August 7, showcasing the sharpest of cutting-edge Asian genre fare every Saturday night at midnight.

You'll note that a few of the offerings aren't strictly horror fare, but we're including everything since just about all of them offer gore and violence, even if the supernatural/horror elements aren't quite there.

The 2010 season of Asia Extreme includes the U.S. television premieres of five films from South Korea: The Restless, Shadows in the Palace, Tazza: The High Rollers, Voice, and The Wig. The new season of Asia Extreme premieres on August 7 at 12:00 midnight Et/Pt.

Thai/Taiwan horror The Fatality on English friendly DVD
Hailed as the first co-production between the two countries - Thai/Taiwanese The Fatality is now out to buy on English subtitled DVD. Directed by Thiwa Meyathaisong (The Sisters), Fatality stars Pitchanart Sakhakorn and Kenji Wu, in a tale of death, reincarnation and retribution – All good horror fodder topics. Synopsis: Poor and desperate Taiwanese man Yong (Kenji Wu) commits suicide in Taipei, only to wake up in the body of a comatose man in Bangkok. Slowly recovering with the help of Dr. Stanley (Matt Wu), he takes on a new face and life as Asanee, a civil servant with a beautiful wife (Pitchanart Sakakorn). Things aren't as cushy as they seem though as Yong can't speak Thai, his would-be wife has a lover on the side, and most vexingly, he keeps seeing dead people everywhere. Yong soon learns that it was Asanee's job to stamp the spirits' death certificates, a job he must now continue.
